Hey y'all,

I have noted over the years that some members here have had trouble changing their email address in their account settings; the account itself doesn't recognize the different email address because the link to acknowledge the change is broken and the account crashes, or something.

That's what I'm about to do. If I disappear for a while with what seems like a closed account, it won't be because of a deliberate decision to leave. If my account does crash and burn in the interim, I will come back as Evolver2 sooner or later. Y'all mean too much to me for me to just walk away.

I don't write this for the purposes of conveying self-importance or anything, it's just a heads up in case people wonder why they see 'Guest' as my profile if it happens. Any change, good bad or otherwise, might not be apparent for a few days - I'll be busy saving some personal stuff first.

Panicked over nothing. All sorted.

I do remember a case from a few years ago where someone's account did crash and burn from a change they made to their settings, and they were unable to reactivate it. Maybe there used to be a bug in the system which has since been fixed.

Yes, I  remember that too. Glad to see things worked out.

Is your old email not valid anymore?

The email address that I used to create my account here is a shared account. I wanted to change it to the private one that...certain people here...are familiar with. 😉
