Bit of a gray day here today. This is an artificial wetland at a neighboring town. It started life as a reservoir which was tapped off not for domestic supply, but to replenish tanks at the train station down the hill for steam locos! Obviously redundant since the 1950's and lovingly cared for by the community since.
