Strange but I have tried it several times. My phone will not open the messages. Must be the version of android it used. 

I still have my laptop 😉

Pick Any member's name to go to their profile page. Then click "send PM". This takes you to a messaging page for that person.
Up above your will see the page address line where you can bypass that page and go directly to "conversations". That will take your to all your PM's.
