11 month's post-op, concerns...

well it's been 11 months, and right now I have mixed feelings about the overall results of my surgery.  I was really hoping I could go out without my shirt this summer but I don't feel as though I can...  I talked to my surgeon when i was about 6 months because one of my biggest issues were the size of my nipples.  He said he might be able to make them smaller (he said that he made them smaller but I dont remember him doing that during the surgery.. I had a local).  My other main issue is the scars.  The scars seem to be extremely noticeable.  Is there anything that can be done or any suggestions from other doctors regarding maybe some things I can bring up to my doctor to improve my chest?

also, he said that when I am on year he might be able to reduce my nipples.  Here are the pictures of my nipples/scars...

Obviously no offence intended, but YES, your nipples DEFINITELY need to be reduced. Ask for that revision since he promised to do them the first time round and forgot to do so ... Whats the point of your flat chest if your nipples now look abnormal?

Nipple reduction surgery should be done a long time after gyne surgery anyway. From what I know: if you get the two done too soon together there is a chance that the nipple could die off completely. It's because blood isn't able to get to the nipple area or something because the surrounding area is still healing from the gyne surgery.

Waiting a year for nipple reduction would be what I'd do. Good thing for you, it's only a month away. If you don't like your current surgeon, maybe look for a specialist.

I like him and everything..  He's cool and both him and his staff are real nice and helpful.  I don't know though, I'm just nervous about going back to him somewhat.  Thats why I kind of wanted some opinions about what I should do.  I like his work regarding the gyno.  Though I kinda think that he could have taken more out, its a big improvement over what I did have

Well I finally got to my doctors, and he's wanting about 2000 (including the hospital fees) give or take to do a revision.  I'm not too sure anymore if I want him as a doctor.  And seeing as how he left my nipples that large to begin with, I just don't see how I need to cough up 2k more.  Plus he says that the scaring around my nipples will increase.  Should I maybe go with another doctor or what should I do?

that's weird, when i had my surgery on may 15, the doctor not only got rid of the gyne, but he also shrunk the size of my nipples at the same time (they were much larger than they are now w/o the gyne)

Generally nipples shrink in size on the operating table when lipo/gland is performed. And further reductions are done if required ...

well the whole reason for the cut around the whole nipple was for supposedly to reduce the nipples and I guess the fact that my gyne was too big to do a normal incision just underneath.  Any recommended doctors for this?

It would be really helpful to see what you looked like preop.  Were you overweight?  The large diameter of your nipple/areolae is usually seen in guys who have really large breasts and are really overweight.  Did he take out gland tissue?  And if so, was that done through an incision on the underside of each areola?  If so, he probably didn't reduce the areolar diameter, for fear of losing blood flow to that tissue.

You definitely need a reduction of each nipple/areola complex now.  Talk with your surgeon about your concerns.  There's probably a good reason that your areola diameter is still large.

An areolar reduction show now do the trick.
