Need your advice on Compression vest and post-op

I had my surgery last week and my doctor advised me to wrap my chest tightly with tensor bandage, but it's a pain in the butt, especially if I don't have someone to help me with it.  Alternatively, he suggested that I can buy a compression vest.  Any advice on a proper vest for 1 week post op? 

Also, what else can I do for faster/better healing (I've heard about massaging etc ...).  And how long after the surgey can I start exercising?
