Will aloe vera help with scars?

Aloe vera is an overall amazing product IMO.  I use it on my face to reduce redness and to help with scars (though it's a slow process)

I was curious as to if AV will work if spread on my chest everyday... any thoughts on this?

My PS advised using Vit E on scars after 3 weeks post-op.
