I talked to my Dad today about my gynecomastia (not the first time) and asked him hypothetically if he would pay for surgery if I needed it. He said he would, but he doesn't have the money for it. I thought he was ahead in his money situation, but I dont live with him and he has struggled with drug addictions in the past, so I don't know where the money went. Anywho, I told him that after 6 years of having it I've been told it's not likely it will go away on its own which is what I've been told. He is still kind of resisting me there, but whatever. I'm going to go talk to a different primary sometime within the next week about where I could find a specialist to talk to so I can figure out what to do.
My question is this...
Is there any kind of places that will lend money out with low interest payments or maybe even no interest? I'm desperate. Please help me out.

I cant beleive these parential stories I hear on the site, freaking worthless freakng parents... I would and will help my kids withy this type of an issue in a mionute. Your dad blows cash on drugs, damn him, he could be helping you.......
buckle down, save some money, and ask your dad to match you dollar for dollar.
you wont get a loan for this at your age, if you did it would be 20percent interest easy

Thank you. It's good some people understand. I turned 14 in March but had this since age 8. I'm about to start working next month, it's already set up. I was actually wondering where HE could get a loan. I remember hearing something on this site a while back about a place that charged ZERO interest which would probably help my situation a bit, if it was a legit thing I heard anyway. Have you heard of this?
-
Anyone^^^?
Just read my reply, it explains better.

You won't find anyone that will lend money with Zero interest. What bank is going to lend money for free? They want to make money too. More than likely, you can maybe get a loan with a low interest rate like 5% - 9%. That sounds more probable. And it is dependant on how good your father's credit is. If he has lousy credit history (which would be typical of a drug user) then he won't be getting a loan with cheap interest rates if he can even get one at all.

I'm in south Florida, I'm getting a job next month (been waiting on a position to open since April) And I'm only 14 so I can't work that much unfortunately :-[

My advice is to start working. I know gyne sucks in high school. Trust me, I just graduated this year. However, what you should be really looking ahead to is college. Whatever fun you miss out in high school because of gyne will not compare to the fun you will miss out of in college. Start saving up some money and in the mean time start losing weight and lifting. From what I hear, the lower your body fat the more successful the surgery tends to be. That way, by the time you have enough money saved up you will be more likely to get results that you will be satisfied with. Also, I don't know how many surgeons will be willing to operate on you because you are rather young, even if you say that the gyne has been around for a long time.

It must suck being in South Florida, people are all about the beach bods down there.

I know, that's true 100%. I'm just hoping my dad will consider taking a loan out and letting me help pay it off. He owes me big time even though he doesnt realize it. I was in a foster home for 7 months because of him and the freaking pain I endured there... He can sure as hell cough up a few grand, because honestly, that's all I want. I just want to get this taken care of and I want him out of my life. He still treats my family like shit, and of course, he doesn't realize it. But my mom is far too poor and sick for me to even consider asking her for this money, that would be very selfish on my part.
-
So what do you think of my plan? That's basically my plan except I'm going through one year of college with the gyne. You might be able to get it removed before senior year (highly recommended, but not necessary).
-
It's not a HUGEEEEE problem for me, but it is a big problem for me. I can hide it pretty well just by wearing an undershirt, so theres no huge rush. But I'd like to get it taken care of ASAP, hopefully before my sophmore year (I have to repeat my freshman year this year :-X). I'm taking a weight lifting class along with the mandatory gym class this year too. I think you got a good plan there, but make sure you don't overdue it because sometimes you'll push the gland out by pumpin up your chest :-\

Yes, I'm aware. However, I want my surgery to be as successful as possible so a few months of extra puffiness after so many years will be nothing if it increases the chances of my surgery turning out great.

I feel for you cody, sorry to hear your mom is sick. I know she would help you if she could.
No offense , but your dad is a piece off shit [ your words] , he put you in a foster home , no doubt when he was on a drug binge. Best thing you can do is find a good person to confide in, maybe a school counseler, a relative , some one, this forum , but dont hold it in and dont self medicate with booze and drugs.
Get yourself in shape thru your working out, you feel better about yourself. I know it is a lot of money for you to get this operation, I dont have an answer for that.
Tell your dad how you feel, maybe he can come up with some cash that sorry ass

Its best not to rely on a dead beat dad for money, even if you really need it and they do occasionally pay out, believe me I know from experience.
-
My father kept me housed and fed until I was old enough to go into military service. I held a part time, after school job starting at the age of about 14 to cover my own needs. My dad owed me nothing.
If you really want surgery bad enough, you'll find a way to earn the money to pay for it yourself.
It would be really great if parents all had the means and inclination to cover such things as breast reduction surgery; But none of us has the right to expect this.

paapaw.... your dad kept you housed and fed? freeakin ay he is supposed to, he is your dad.
True your dad ''owes'' you nothing, but damn, seems he would WANT to help you obtain some happiness.

In case you do not know my story... Let me tell you.
He put me in a foster home. He left my family for crack-cocaine. He pays my single mother supporting 2 children 250 dollars a week, which covers almost nothing. My mother is sick.
He owes me, bigtime.
