My son now is 13, since he was a baby he had male breasts. Now at 13 with his weight being over the limit they are not getting any smaller. How can one be tested what do you ask the doctor to test for and do you go to a regular doctor or a specialist. I just found your website and didnt realize this was even a condition, thank you

Start with your GP, he should be able to feel if your son has glandular tissue with his hands. Good luck!

Teenagers with Gynecomastia (http://www.plasticsurgery4u.com/gynecomastia_gallery/teenage_gyno_gallery.htm) can experience a great deal of emotional stress. Options depend on many factors. Weight Loss can help with the fat component of gynecomastia (http://www.plasticsurgery4u.com/procedure_folder/male_breast/fat_gyno_weight_loss.html) but not the gland.
We help patients and their families explore their concerns during a consultation or a Preliminary Remote Discussion (http://www.plasticsurgery4u.com/how_to_learn_more.html).
Hope this helps,
Michael Bermant, MD
