Hi,
It's been 15 years since I developed gynecomastia and finally it is gone.
I will be removing vest for the first time this evening and I can't wait to see the results.
Everything before and after the op went exactly as described by other forum users.
I have got no pain at all, I am not taking any painkillers as well. Maybe slight burning discomfort but it is bearable.
Stats : 1500ml of fat, 21 grams left side, 22 grams right side.
Photos will follow.
-
Congratulations mate! Bet your on top of the world! Im going in for mine this saturday morning. Was a bit nervous earlier in the week, but just looking forward to being gyne free now! Hope all progresses well for you on the recovery front
-
Congrats fella! I'm in on the 5th of April and can't wait. How long were you in for?
Good luck for Saturday Ad!
-
I left the hospital at about 16:00.
I had breakfast about an hour after I woke up, felt a little dizzy for a while (it's like having a hangover - but people have different symptoms).
Still felt dizzy but then before we were leaving I puked up breakfast and I felt like a new born baby:-))
I spent rest of the day relaxing and watching movies.
Today I had a phone call from the hospital and we scheduled check up visit with Dr. Karidis for the 04.05.11
I am going to take off vest for the first time at about 20:00 and have a shower.

I tried to post my pre op photo but I am doing something wrong...

yaa they got this crazy rule now linking to other external sites not allowed that's why, try uploading them using attachment make sure total size of all pictures is less than 128k, not a whole lot so try to shrink images, i know it sucks they made it worse for us to post pictures now here.

-
Looks spot on mate!! top notch job done there! absolutely buzzing about mine now
-
Looking good mate! Like thetodd said, just sit back, relax, and let your body do its thing. Then get yoursen out shopping for some summer t-shirts!
-
Thanks guys.
All I am going to do is relax and recover.
After that it is time to hit some weights and get rid of a spare tire around my waist.
Summer here I come:-))
-
Looking good mate. The key is having a good result immediately post surgery. The chances are you will swell up something fierce over the next one to two months. However this will subside back to how it is now so don't let it get you down.
Enjoy your new life!
PS 30 minute run and 50-60 sit ups a day will be more than enough to shift your spare tyre. Just try to eat healthy during recovery as it's easy to put on weight just lounging around watching Jeremy Kyle!

Yes mate, I am very pleased with the results. To be honest with you I thought that there will be a lot of saggy skin.
Number 1 priority is recovery.
After Pre and post op days I am back on my low carb diet with whole foods: lean meat, healthy fats, fruits and vegetables plus lots of quality sleep ;D
Life is beautiful...

Looking good bro! nice to see the plasters are finally off :) Im 7 days post today. Going to take plasters off tomorrow and do some more photos so will also update :) How you been getting on the last 10 days? how you found the vest
-
So far I can't complain. Pain is bearable-since the op I had only one painkiller tablet. I can't believe how fast your body heals after all that fat and gland tissue was removed. Everyday I can see difference.
On the fourth day some bruising appeared (it looked like a purple triangle in the middle of my chest). I had very little swelling at the beginning but it is completely gone now.
Most of the fat was taken out from the sides of my chest and from under my arms. It was very numb at the beginning. I was worried that the saggy skin will not be able to adjust. That is the time when you really have to wear your vest 24/7. I will wear it for 14 days and nights. After that for another 14 nights and after that I will wear Nike compression wear (it looked awesome when I tried it on:-)) during the day for some time until the check up with "The Man" Karidis on the 4th May.
I took the plasters off because the incisions are healed. I am telling you guys, I couldn't find them on my nipples:-) and the ones on my armpits are gone. You really have to look for them with magnifying glass:-)
Now I am a little bit worried about scarring. I don't know if it's scarring under my skin but it feels different-harder then the untouched parts of my chest.
I know that it is too early to worry about it. I am going to start very light massage after 14 days.
Another thing I experienced was reduced range of movement in my arms. Only when I rise them up. It feels like your biceps is pulling your upper chest. It is painful so I do it once a day to test if it is improving.
Guys let me know if it is normal because I'm a bit worried.
Peace
Ps. Sorry about the grammar. English is not my first language.
-
Limited range of motion is totally normal. Took me until about week 5 or so before I felt like I could lift my arms over my head with full range. Results look great!

Same as me mate! alll exactly the same! I am also booked into see karidis on may 4th, may see you there mate. what time u going in?
-
I am booked in for 9:50 am.
It's been 22 days post op, recovery is going well (bruising and swelling is almost gone).
Everyday routine:
- massage every evening (scar tissue is slowly disappearing)
- light stretching (to improve arms range of motion)
I decided that I will go to the gym on Monday for the first time since the op. It is time to get back to the routine.
I will post some new pics next week on Tuesday (4weeks post op).
-
melano...how long do you massage for?
-
Hi Guys,
It is been a long time...
Everything is going well, new life, new smile on my face... and new t-shirts:-))
I will be posting new photos after my second post op consult with Dr. Karidis - 19.10.2011.
-
Why didn't you get him to lipo your waist fat too? Once prepped it wouldn't have cost that much more. Doubtful you'd lose the spare tyre otherwise.
Did the surgeon remove glandular tissue via the nipple, or was it all lipo-only?
How much was the total cost?
-
He could lose that fat, it just takes a proper diet and a decent amount of cardio
however, it will take more than 60 situps a day
youd need to go on a cut based diet and be running a few miles 4 times a week. Without a clean diet its impossible!
-
If my gyno was caused only by fat, then I would not go under the knife.
Unfortunately it was a combination of fat (total of 1500 mls was aspired) and gland tissue (total of 43 grams of breast gland resection).
Total cost £5285
Gland tissue was removed via nipple.
Since my op (15.03.11) I have gone from 95.3kg 27% body fat to 86kg 19% body fat.
I am 180cm tall.
All I do is:
- Lift heavy 3 x week (squat, deadlift, bench, military press, chin/pull up, rows).
- After every training I do 10-15 min finisher (jump rope, farmer walks, bear crawls, kettlebell swings, sprints).
- Walk 45 min 3 x week.
- Stretch 4 x week
- Sleep minimum 8h a night.
- Take fish oil every day.
- Eat enough to recover.
My diet: (calorie deficit)
- protein (beef, fish, whey, eggs, poultry, venison, some quark cheese and kefir)
- fat (lots of fish oil, olive oil, coconut oil, almond butter, nuts, some organic butter)
- carbs (huge amount of vegetables, very little fruit and sweet potatoes on lifting days)
My first goal is to get to 15% body fat, but eventually I would like to achieve 10% body fat.
I am going to post my 7 months post op pictures after the second consult with Dr. Karidis (19.10.11)
-

Looks brilliant.
You must be chuffed!! ;D
-
why did you pay £5285?
-
Mate,
Thanks for posting your story / pics. I have a very similar case to what you had. The results are amazing
I'm not sure how old you are, but I'm 28 now, and I've left this drag far too long now. I really do feel its wrecked my life etc.
I've got abut 5 months left of saving to do, which together if I get my act together with my diet, should be in a better condition for surgery. Currently 14st 12 llbs, want to get to 13st. I plan on going with Karidis too.
Can, I ask, how do you feel now its all done? Personally, I would just like to wear a T shirt, as I avoid them because of my chest.
ITrercuit, the cost depends on the condition you are in. Also, I always think of the saying, you get what you payfor.
Out of curiousity, what is the breakdown of the £5285?
-
Looking great mate, well done, very pleased for you, looking forward to having my op and hope results are as good as yours
-
p - e - r - f - e - c - t
nice results!
how long did it take until you could see the final results? 3 months?
-
your 7 months post op pics looking bloody good!
-
Thanks guys!!!
Price breakdown:
- hospital fee £1658
- blood test £137
- Karidis fee £3490
As sometimesuk said "you get what you pay for"
To be honest with you money was not an issue, I would pay even more if I had to. Trust me Dr. Karidis knows his job.
It took me a while to save money, but what kind of motivation I had?
My gyno was extreme and trust me whole my life I hated summer, beach and swimming pools.
Now I am 32 and I have got toooottttallllyyy different life. I love my T-shirts, summer (I cannot wait for my holiday in March - Bali here I come). A few weeks ago I went to the park with my wife (t-shirt had to come off, it was to hot:-). It was first time in my life that I had my head high, chest out and smile on my face. What a feeling:-))
@sometimesuk Your life will change completely.
@GodWasAngry I am still waiting for final results. Dr. Karidis says that it can take up to 12 months to heal up properly. Just be patient, healing process is a log run, but you will see changes week after week.
One more thing - I have got no scars on my nipples. Nothing.
Good luck to all of you. I know that you will be happy with the results of your ops.
Peace
P.s. If you have any questions just shoot...

Did u also have a nipple graft? I see you had horizontal scars.
-
No nipple graft.
-
From what you went from and ended up with, it's an amazing transformation of your body.
Is that minor baggy look around your chest from excess skin or is there still some swelling and fluid build up from the operation?
I would still have my top off like you did regardless as it feels liberating to not have a great big set of knockers on your chest doesnt it!
-
I werent having a digg at you by the way about losing weight, i was just saying you didnt need extra liposuction on the belly you could lose it with hard work.
but yeah, in a word excellent! Your weight loss is fantastic you look so much better now. My only concern is the price you paid it seems that karidis fee has an extra grand tacked onto it. Has anyone else whos recently had surgery had to pay that much?
If i was you id be contacting the Lloretto clinic and asking where the extra cost from, someting seems wrong to me!
-
Sorry, I was refering to Trevor2522's suggestion of lipo to my belly:-)
I know it was expensive, but that was the price I was given after the consultation
-
Just had a chuckle to myself,
its like when you buy something and someone tells you they've just seen them cheaper somewere else,
suppose as the saying goes, you gets what you pay for !!!
You do seem to have paid more than others but you cannot fault the results.
Looking Great mate.
-
@chopper I have some saggy skin on my left pec-it is shrinking ( I need to put some more muscle on my chest:-) There is still a bit of scar tissue, but it is gradually disolving.
I need to thank you All for the support I was given in the last 7 months. It is very important to me that there are people to support you when others pick and laugh at you.
As I said before I have a new life and new motivation. I will stay on this forum to support and encourage others.
My new goal is to get to 10% body fat and see a full six pack for the first time in my life.
Peace
-
Awesome results dude, money well spent!
Just one question mate, how did the surgery affect your confidence?
-
I haven't been more confidant in my life. My wife says that I am 2 inches taller.
I want to go on beach holiday every month.
-
They are supposed to charged a fixed rate for gyne surgery, i havent seen the price change since i had it done. To be charged nearly an extra grand has got to be a mistake id question it and see if there was any chance of getting the money refunded.
Or maybe karidis wants an upgrade from his bentley to a veyron ;)
-
I just realized why I paid extra £1000.
It is for the extra lipo of the sides under my armpits.
On my frontal before picture you can see that I have a lot of fat under my armpits.
Karidis advised me to do it as well, otherwise it would not look good.
Standard gyne op is for the breast gland removal and lipo on the breast area.
-
thats alright then your the first ive seen to have that done, was worth it for sure cant believe your pre and post ops your nips have shrunk loads
-
How's things melano, any update pics ?
Have you still kept pushing yourself with the fitness?
