hey everybody :D long time lurker here, read a lot of stuff on this forum including pictures stories and questions.
i went for a consultation 6 weeks ago and they have booked my surgery for the end of the month! the total pay is £2700 which is reasonably cheap. the hospital is near my house and its day surgery which means no overnight stay. perfect.
havent told anybody and want to keep it this way. i know my parents wouldnt stand for it due to the worry it will cause them and unnecessary stress and hassle for me too!
feel very much alone in this, but ill have to stiffen up that upper lip :)
im 24, reduced my body fat down a hell of a lot over the last couple of years but the puffy nipples and ball-like glands still remain under my nipples. grr.

surgeon said
its only an incision that is needed both sides just below the nipple. no lipo needed.
afterwards
- stitches on the inside
- tapes and dressings for 10 days
- bruising and swelling for a few weeks
- 3 to 6 months to settle completely
hopefully i will be fine to work again in 1-2 days after this right? its office work so no heavy lifting really
so excited :D yet so scared at the same time!
-
Congrats. You have mild gyno, so your results should be fantastic.
-
thank you that is really good to hear :) got my fingers crossed
-
good morning ;D
its a day after my surgery! (i delayed it by a month, im glad they didnt kick up a fuss)
the surgeon made a peri-areolar incision on both sides (less chance of scarring) and removed the ball like tissue which have been troubling me for years :-[
no pain yet, im sure there will be once the swelling starts.
i ended up telling my parents a week before it happened and im glad i did. got a lift there/back home and help around the house with certain things too. they had no choice in the matter anyway seeing as though there was no going back ;D
wasnt nervous at all yesterday either. just a mixture of relief and excitement. i bet ill feel nervous when i have to take off the tape and foam pads after 10 days though.....
thank god for this website :)

I'm about 5 days post op and was expecting the pain to kick in...I have had no pain no bruising and little swelling that I can tell. Doc said I could take the plastic over dressings off today which I did. My nipples are being pulled down by the tape/sutures from what I can tell but over all I can tell they are much flatter than ever! He also said after 48 hours I could remove the foam pads but to continue to wear the binder util he instructs me not to. Can't wai for our final results! Congrats.
-
Anelka9, where did you have your surgery done if you dont mind me asking? are you in the UK?
-
hey mate, you thinking of getting it done?
i got mine done with BMI healthcare, day surgery which is why it was cheaper than other places too. north west london
i will recommend the surgeon once i know how good my chest turns out, fingers crossed i can!
ive had tapes and foam padding for 3 days now, my back and shoulders are giving me aches more than anything tbh, can only sleep on my back and im so upright all the time :o
@fnnewguy was yours just an incision? maybe that is why our recovery time is shorter. my tapes and dressings come off in a week, how did you shower?
-
Mine sounded same as yours, incision just under the areaola. I took off my binder to shower, but he put on some kind of over dressing, it was like a tape/cellophane/glue stuff with a pad underneath, but it wouldn't get wet somehow. Im a week post op and he removed all fo the dressings. I have to struggle to see any kind of incision. I cant really tell how its gonna turn out as i can feel hard swelling all around the nipple, and the look funny from being compressed but he said in a month or so the swelling should come down and the skin should retract. Had the same issue as u a bouncy ball-golf balf ball sized ball of tissue right under each nip. How r u comin along bro?
-
ours seem similar then ;D those bloody golf balls have been annoying me for years :'(
your previous posts make me laugh, its almost like you are dissapointed you wont experience any pain you probably prepared yourself for!
yep, im wearing the tape/pad right now, cant wait to get it off so i can see how flat my chest looks :) did he tell you to do any massaging techniques?
im coming along nicely, no heavy lifting or hands above my head though right? im being extra careful with everything!
-
I know! I was all prepared to be hurting. Oh well haha. I have full range of motion now, doc simply put it, "if it hurts, dont do it" your chest will look flat, but dont be suprised if its not a HUGE difference yet as there will be some swelling. I can tell that mine will look good, but i have a lot of muscle mass, and swelling on top of that so its not satisfactory yet. Patience is the key post op from what i have seen. And yeah let me tell ya, im glad those balls/disks of tissue are gone!
-
and nope, i don't think massage necessary until/unless you start building up scar tissue. Compression is key to a speedy recovery, although its extremely annoying!
-
So have you been shy and reluctant to take off your top in the past then?? even though you have built muscle up....
Hopefully swelling has reduced by July august so I can book some holidays :P
Would like to see some of your before / after pics....
Yeah compression is key, if somebody wrapped another two layers around my chest until next week I wouldn't mind! Long as I don't suffocate lol
-
haha extremely shy. Which sucks because I could wear tight shirts that would cover the nipple, and people, especially girls would always harrass me and try to get me to take my shirt off and I never would. I never had a problem with girls, or anything like that but I would never be seen shirtless in front of anyone, unless it was cold and my nips were hard. SO i cant wait to cut (bulking phase up until I had surgery)and go shirtless! Hopefully the results are satisfactory. The waiting game sucks! Especially researching, reading horror stories, etc...i think ill be fine tho.
-
Alright ladz! got my fingers crossed for a good result for both of you. hoping you get what your looking for and that recovery is as smoooooth as can be!
@ fnnewguy your bang on with your post op philosophy of patience and compression and lots of it - from what I've read anyway!
@ Anelka9 'I'm so upright all the time' that's how its gonna be from now on m8! standing up straight with your chest out and no gyno in sight!
haven't had my surgery yet but will be following your results for what to expect. will any of you be posting your experience in the UK forum?
-
fnnewguy i still want to see pictures ;D our problem seems quite similar. i had my tapes and dressings removed today, i will never forget the first time the surgeon moved away and i looked down at my new flat chest!
captain chesty i sure am mate! upright and topless too hopefully in a couple month. need to tone up this stomach now ;D really really hope i dont build much scar tissue and swelling though!
will post my story soon in the UK forum once i feel ive got the results i wanted. dont want to jinx anything just yet. im broke now lol
oh and the surgeon said i can return to exercise and lifting as soon as possible!
-
Did you have any lipo done as well, I have these annoying creases across and some swelling. DO you have any of that?
-
no lipo done, just the golf balls taken out
i am now 8 weeks post surgery. i visited my surgeon last week and he said i do not need to come back anymore for further check ups. my vest was off after 10 days and i have not had any instructions to massage. i even started gym and sports 2 weeks after my op!

just took these. ive realised ive got a bit of a concave chest, no matter how puffy my nipples were, any suggestions how to 'flatten' this out a bit?
im happy with the actual surgery and the decrease of the puffy nipple size. the scars are hardly noticeable!
-
Looks great. As for the concave chest, people say dumb bell pullovers help. Try some yoga stretches. Also try google and search 'pectus excavatum exercises.
-
cheers mate, im going to do that now :)
hopefully there is still some swelling to go down around my nipples too to make it flat as possible
