I am now close to 5 months post surgery and scar tissue is still huge :/ (left side)
Maybe 20% improvment from 2 months ago at best. And I am getting tired of massaging everyday and still having to think about this.
When is it time to go for cortisone injection ? Does it have any side effects or something ? (or else why doesn't everybody just get it?)
thanks.

Dunno man, I've still got scar tissue after 4/5 months too.
Have you talked to your surgeon??
I'm remaining patient an keeping up the massaging each day until I see my surgeon in a month.

Every case is different. Mother Nature is fickle -- some men develop scar tissue under the nipples -- and others don't.
Scar tissue, which is actually a normal part of the healing process, generally starts within weeks after surgery and continues for several months. There is no "correct" time to consider cortisone injections. It depends upon whether there is an early, large amount of scar tissue and also on the surgeon's experience and preferences.
Best to consult with your surgeon to discuss.
