Hello,
had gland only removal January 2017. All healed great, I just have some scar tissue beneath my left areola for which i‘m going to ask for kenalog injections.
Also I want to ask if it’s normal, that 1 year post op the scars around the bottom of the areola, where incisions where made, are still a bit raised and thicker in some areas than others ? Because mine are a bit raised and thicker in some areas, they’re a bit noticeable through a t shirt. When shirtless they’re not noticeable at all because they’re at the bottom of the areola.
I‘m already using silicone cream to treat the scars.
I heard that the phase of collagen remodeling, which is how scars heal and fade (get more invisible), can last up to 2 years ? Is that right ?
Thanks !

Welcome to my world -- where everyone heals differently. It is not your fault or that of your surgeon -- blame it on Mother Nature.
The good news is that you could return to your surgeon and a cortisone injection should have good success for you.
