I'd like to thank those of you had replied to my earlier post about my insurance carrier denying my claim for surgery(although it is a covered procedure), so I sought an appeal. Wrote a letter from the heart about how I have no quality of life asking to show compassion and pay for this surgery. Well a few days ago I got a response saying they would pay for it 100%! So i have my pre-op appoinment December 30th and surgery is scheduled for January 12th! Finally I will have the opportunity to live a normal life as others do being as i was diagnosed with severe gyno and am not obese by any means. Thirty five years of misery will be gone! Thank you guys for this site as it has helped me tremendously by giving me the courage to do this and realizing there is help out there.

And thank you for posting the results of your appeal.
Many insurance companies will regard male breast reduction as purely cosmetic. But as you have proven, they will sometimes provide the coverage if a medical need can be established.
