endocrinologist

Ok...I went to the doc a few days ago and they referred me to an endocrinologist. however I wasnt able to ask what the endocrinologist specializes in considering that the doc was in a rush and such and just wanted to finish giving me my sports physical. can anyone help me with this and tell me a little about it. I believe they check hormones and such but has anyone been yet? What do they do there? Do they test me? Can they fix my gyne? should I ask questions? Can they clear me for surgery? Anything and everything helps. Thanks.

an endocinologist studies the hormone system.  I you were to see one, the first thing they would probably do is test your levels of a bunch of different hormones.   I don't know if they'd be able to fix your gyn, but if you have a hormonal problem, like low testosterone etc..., they might be able to fix that.
