tip on the search feature

When i first came here, I used the search tool to try and dig up some old info on my questions. by default, the tool will only look back a week -- fair enough, but when i set the value to 50 or 250 days (basically anything greater than 30 or so) the page stalls and times out.

i have a very fast computer on a super fast connection - i am guessing this has something to do with the software.

is there something i am doing wrong, or is it a bug with the board?

btw i have tried the latest versions of ie and opera.

I get that too, search is pretty well broken I think.
