My insurance is paying for the whole thing (in America. . . go figure).  But they told it would be about $7,000 if the ins. rejected the claim.

so the average cost is $5000?? do you all mean USD or what? in my country, singapore(asia), i got an email reply from a plastic surgeon it would cost around USD 1.5k

In Birmingham AL I'm paying $4,000 but it includes stomach and love handle lipo (very minor).  Was gonna be $3,500 for gyne only.  My case is pretty minor.  I thought the doctor said I would not have tissue excised, but my wife standing next to me said she thought he said it would, so until my 2-week pre-op exam, I'm not sure if that's happening.  Surgery is scheduled for Jan 5 '05

I'm scheduled for surgery on Feb 11 in Virginia Beach, VA.  The surgeon will charge $3600 for the gynecomastia (will include tissue excision) and I'm having lipoplasty done at the same time on my abdomen and hip rolls.  I get a 10% discount for the gyne procedure because I've been to this doctor before (Blepharoplasty and chin implant)  and he only charges 50% of the regular lipo fee for additional areas done at the same time.  Total surgeon's fee is $5283.  OR, lab, supplies, anesthesia, etc total $1731.  So I'm plunking down $7014.00 for everything.  After having viewed the info posted on this board, I'll have to ensure that the procedure covers getting rid of puffy nipples. (I hate them more than anything else!)

I'm scheduled for surgery on February 11th too!  We'll have to keep in touch, Argo.  I'm paying $8,650 (which includes excision, lipo and lipo to love handles and spare tire).  

My surgery is being performed in LA by Dr. Dr. Sanders.
