I’m 32 years old and have had gynecomastia since I was 12 years old. When I was 15 I was determined to get rid of gynecomastia with weight training, since I thought the gynecomastia was due to baby fat I thought they would be gone in no time. Although my body started building muscle and firming in the surrounding pectoral muscles the gynecomastia never seem to improve. When I turned 18 I decided I was going to attack the gynecomastia with a strict diet, cardio, and continue with the weight training I had started when I turned 15. I did this until I was 21 and still the gynecomastia was still there. At this point I had given up and thought I would have to live with gynecomastia the rest of my life, avoiding the beach, pool parties, and even avoiding lounging around in my backyard in my own home without a shirt. Even at 21 I knew you could get gynecomastia removed with surgery but I didn’t feel it would be worth the expense or inconvenience since I thought they would just come back eventually because I thought my body was just programed to store fat in my chest for some reason. It wasn’t until recently when I started researching on the Internet on great sites likehttp://www.gynecomastia.org and http://www.orangecountycosmeticsurgery.com/gynecomastia/index.htm that my gynecomastia was caused by puberty and the gynecomastia was actually caused by breast tissue that needed to be removed , no exercise or diet would ever get rid of them completely. With Gynecomastia once the breast tissue is removed the gynecomastia would never come back!
After researching various plastic surgeons in the Orange County area I decided to schedule a consultation with Dr. Cruise with Cruise Plastic Surgery in Newport Beach California. I choose his office over the others  because his website had a ton of information regarding gynecomastia, had many before and after pictures of the gynecomastia procedures he has performed, and testimonials of past patients. The staff at Dr. Office is very friendly, informative, and accommodating. After meeting with Dr. Cruise and going over my needs and how he would correct them with surgery I know I found the right Doctor to perform my surgery. I had the surgery and I have to say I’m completely satisfied with the results Dr. Cruise did an outstanding job, I could not have asked for anything more. I’m still in the recovery stage and am wearing a compression wrap which I have to say is very uncomfortable which brings me to the next topic.
I was doing some research since I have wear  my compression for about 4 more weeks and came across  Dr. Miguel A. Delgado, Jr., M.D. website (www.gynecomastiaspecialist.com) who is also a Gynecomastia specialist in the San Francisco area. I saw a few of his videos and say that he used a compression vest for his patients. After contacting his office to inquire about the vest his staff informed me that he actually developed a new vest that has gotten great responses from his patients. I ordered the secondary stage vest which is worn by patients after 1 week post op and worn for approximately 6 weeks.  I have to say this vest is outstanding. It was truly designed with the patient in mind. It has padding underneath the arms were vest meets the armpits which is awesome. For anyone that has worn a compression wrap for any extended period of time knows it can be very uncomfortable in under the arm area.  Also it is made of outstanding quality which will last the entire length of your recovery time and not get stretched out.  I hope this blog helps anyone considering Gynecomastia surgery, I feel if your gynecomastia is constantly on your mind you should probably have it don. Getting the surgery has been one of the best descsions of my life I only wish I would have done it sooner.
