I woke up during surgery

I am 10 days post op and I remember the day before the operation as it was today. I was extremely nervous, scared, and I was beginning to regret the fact that I was modifying my body. The morning of July 3rd, I was extremely nervous. I had a feeling that something would go wrong and I had nightmares about death the night before. My mother was never supportive of my operation (still isnt) but I had managed to let her think it was ok for me to do this. ( i told her that if she had paid 4000 bucks for my braces, which is not something that fixes something that seriously affects me, then she could let me do the surgery  and let me be free of the misery i had) Mom told me that she did not like the idea but she would let me get operated. When I was in the operating room, the first thing that happened was they put an IV on me and I started rambling about the World Cup and I remember the doctors asking me pointless questions like if i was a kid and me answering them. After that I fell asleep. When I woke up, they were still operating on me! To this day I  do not know what caused this. I felt the knife cut my left nipple (the second one done), and dammit, it was the worst pain I have ever felt. The doctors noticed that I screamed in pain and I remember the anasthesiologist telling me "This will hurt a little ok?" and injected me in the nipple area. It was then numbed and I couldnt feel anything. Unfortunately, I was still awake and I saw them operating on me and taking off the gland by a reflection on a glass door. After this trauma, they put a bandage on me and took me to another room. My mom kept looking at me worriedly and asked me if i was ok. I gave her the weakest smile I had ever given in my life. Immediately after being put in the recuperation room, I felt as if i had to leave and I begged the doctors to let me leave. (I felt wide awake and consious at the point, and nothing hurt) I left the recuperation room around 10 minutes after the op but in the car I became sleepy and immediately went to sleep. When I got home, i was dizzy and they had to help me go to bed. I slept untill the next day and I thought "Wow, I am really crazy".

Ouch.

Ur experience was unlucky and unusual, I think... but at least you did not get one of those nightmares where you feel everything in the op but can't move or speak to let the docs know.

Sorry to change the topic....

When I was a child, I had an operation (can't recall what it was for tho....  :-/) and when I woke up, I was sick all over myself and the gurney that I was on. I was so groggy that I couldn't call for a nurse. Not a pleasant experience....
