I went to see Dr. Delgado back in 2007 and I have to say that he did an excellent job on
surgery.    At first I was hesitant to go with him because the surgery is very expensive
but I needed peace of mind knowing I went with a surgeon with lots of experience
in this area and that has an excellent reputation.
I'm very glad I chose him as my surgeon.

I was categorized with moderate gynecomastia and I was totally tired of
going through my whole life wearing large shirts/sweaters to hide my gyno.

From my experience the pain immediately after the surgery was mild.
The annoying thing about the recovery period was the compression garment that
I had to wear for about 6 weeks.  You get used to it after a while but
right when the end of the 6th week came I took it off and never looked back.

During the recovery period and even now there seems to be some
discomfort and pain if I sleep on my side.   Dr. Delgado told me that it's the
scar tissue and the pain will go away within six months.   Sure enough
the pain/discomfort has faded with time and at four months where I'm at right now
I have very very minor discomfort when side sleeping.   I also feel the sensitivity of my nipples
coming back.

After the surgery I was flat like a board.   I was in shock at the dramatic difference
my body looked before and after the surgery.   At first it didn't look real as my
chest was soooo flat, but over time as the body heals everything began to look normal.
Right now it's been 4 months since my surgery and my body has healed just fine.
There are no lumpy spots and both nipples look natural and are perfectly symmetrical.
I'm pretty darn impressed with where I came from to what my chest looks like now.

I think the only visible flaw from the surgery is that there is a
slight fold in my right areola that has not gone away.
Still not a big deal, you'd have to get pretty close in order to see it.

Overall for me it was worth the money and I'm extremely happy with the surgery and would
recommend Dr. Delgado to anyone for this procedure if price is not an issue.    This has been
a life changing experience for me as now I can wear normal shirts without having to feel
embarrassed or have people stare at my chest in a funny way.
The cost of my surgery was $8600

What was your experience with swelling?

To be quite honest I don't recall ever noticing a lot of swelling.  I'm pretty sure it did swell a bit but not to the point where I took notice of it.   I assume the drains helped a lot with this and if I can remember correctly they were taken out about 3 days after the surgery.
