I had surgery in Dec. of 2010 with Dr. Kulwant S. Bhangoo in Buffalo, NY at Mercy Hospital. The surgery was set for noon and I got there around 10am. I was put in a room where I changed into the surgery garments. Then around 11 I was put into the pre-op room where the lady went over some more information. I had waxed my chest a few days before so I wouldn't have to shave and avoid having the hair grow back curly and more noticeable. This is true, not an urban legend--I've experienced so I didn't want to do it again. I was going to have liposuction and gland removal.
The actual surgery was very quick, I was put on the table and the was giving the sleepy medicine and got knocked out before I knew it. I woke up on the way back to post-op in a freezing frenzy. I was sooo cold, I even asked the nurse if they put me in the freezer!
What I took from it:Make sure to wax your chest many days before your surgery because mine was very red still and I almost blew my chance of having surgery that day. Also, I wish I knew how cold I would be so I could prepare for that. I thought something was wrong because I was really, really cold when I woke up.
