Under general or local anaesthesia, liposuction is performed on the entire area of the chest to remove excess fatty tissue. After liposuction, if glandular tissue is still present, then an incision is made under the arm or around the edge of the areola. What are the steps of a gynecomastia procedure?

gynecomastia surgery procedure includes the following steps that needs to be carried out:
Anesthesia
Medications are administered intravenous sedation or general anesthesia.
Liposuction technique
In cases where gynecomastia is primarily the result of excess fatty, liposuction is the best remedy. In this procedure the small incisions are made on the body of the indivisual and the excess fat is just sucked out. A vacuum suction does this job. There are various liposuction techniques that can be used as per ones need and demands.
Excision technique
Excision techniques are recommended where glandular breast tissue is to be reduced.
Combination of liposuction & excision techniques
Sometimes gynecomastia is treated with an amalgamation of excision and both incision techniques.
