Hi yes it was tiring, even sitting on my botty on the train lol.  I watched Chernobyl on my phone on the train and it was brill!  Yes it is hot here and I am drinking plenty thanks.  Going to the loo a lot too :-)

I like the look of plants, but certainly don't have green fingers.  I used to have a spider plant in an old flat.  Spider plants are very hardy, but yes, I killed it lol.

My wife, Jan is well into sport (I'm not) and is going up to Nottingham tomorrow to see the F1 races with her son.  She's really excited. I'm not going so will have some time to myself.  Being a fully qualified propellor head, I can feel a Star Trek binge coming on.  Probably some beer and curry too.  Must wash up before she returns.... :-)

Keep Smilin :-)

Steve

ps I see you've changed your profile picture.  Is that you or was the last one you?  It would be nice to put a face to a name.

Splendid to hear from you again Stevey.

The first profile avatar was one selected from a list of available ones here on the site, so it was not me. My current avatar is of course me, a bit of makeup and a wig (my hair is not that long yet).

Very nice that you have a some time to yourself, it's quite relaxing when it presents itself.

How have you been doing in the likes of your gynecomastia? Have you noticed anymore sensitivity?
I can assure you from experience that breaks within the growing spurts are short lived. Them breasts just seem to grow on you.

Everything fairly well here, I've a bit of a summer cold. I have been staying home and resting for almost a week now.
I think the mild heart attack really tapped my strength, and this cold was left free reigns. I am starting to feel better finally.

Nice to hear it called the "loo" again. I haven't heard it called that since I was a child.

It's about time to prepare a bit of lunch, do keep in touch.

Hi Justagirl

So now I know what you look like lol.  Very nice.  I was thinking of posting up my pic, but didn't think it fair on the other forum members :-)

On the gyne front, noting really to report.  It did change to no pain at all, and now it's only if I press hard (so don't press hard!)  It's not really bothering me, although I do check in the mirror every now and then and it doesn't really seem to be progressing.

Did you tell me you had a mild heart attack?  Sorry I don't remember.  Are you OK? apart from being wiped out by the cold of course!  Did you have to go to the hospital for your heart?

I like colloquial language.  Don't you call it a restroom over there?  In Spanish it's el Cuarto de baño ( the quarters of the bath).  In Leicester, a 'croggy' is a ride on the crossbar of a bike.  Sorry, I'll stop now :-)

Anyway, keep smilin' and chat soon :-)

The heart attack won me a night in the hospital, and now a series of tests. I apparently have congestive heart failure, and still waiting to see a specialist.

In the meanwhile I'll just try and recover from this cold.

Cheers!

Hi

Gosh that must have been frightening.  I didn't know what it was so googled it :

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/heart-failure/

I hope it improves soon.  The NHS page mentions lifestyle changes - were you told the same?

I'm really lucky, and almost never have coughs, colds or infections.  Mind you, we had some building work done and I was boasting about this with one of the guys.  The next day I got 'flu and had to crawl to the toilet on my hands and knees.  Serve me right.  He thought this was hilarious!

Anyway (any road up) I hope your cold eases soon.  With everything else going on, I guess you could do without it.

Have a good day :-)

Lifestyle changes are pretty much the only thing recommended, so yes.

I'm in a wheelchair, however I tend to scurry about up and down the hallways when I attend the centre. I was kindly told by one of the nurses I need to wind that down a bit. That's a bit frustrating because the activities they have planned for us on a daily basis leave much to be desired. I do suppose I'll just have to get used to it.

It is what it is, and there's no changing it.

Hehe I can just imagine you hot-tailing it up and down the corridors!  Have you thought of fitting a motorbike engine to your wheelchair?  I'm sure a local mechanic would sort it out for you :-)

I had a blood test last July and was told I was pre-diabetic and have the dreaded 'life style changes' talk.  I knew I needed to lose weight as while taking a drug called Olanzapine, a side effect it was to stimulate your appetite.  And boy, I was hungry.  I used to get up in the night, waking because I was hungry.  My weight went up to 17st 7lbs.

Anyway, the thought of developing full diabetes motivated me to lose the weight.  I really didn't want to be 'on  a diet', eating grass and leaves from the trees in the garden, so I did this:

Evening meals consisted of some random meat or fish and a whole bunch of veg, which was quite filling.  No spuds, rice or pasta.  We have a snack box at home, and it's just too easy to go past it and grab something.  I'm lucky as I never really had the emotional relationship with refined sugars that some people have, so I decided, no refined sugars.  No chocolate, biscuits, puddings, ice cream nada.
Even better, my wife wanted to lose some weight too, so she stopped buying any snacks.  Now it's been a year and I don't miss refined sugars at all.  Well, apart from the whole nut chocolate bars from a local store.  Packed full of nuts num num num.  Oops!  I'll stop there :-)
A year on and I'm just under 14st so have lost 51 lbs.  Here in the UK that's a large bag of potatoes lol.  For your comfort and convenience, here's a pic of one:

https://weightofstuff.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/bag-of-potatoes-50-pounds.jpg

I went back to the docs a few months ago, and am no longer prediabetic which I'm pleased about so feel like I've achieved something lol.

Gosh, you're up Early.  I just checked and the time in Texas is just before 5am.  Are you struggling to sleep?  I can identify with that :-)

Cheers

Wow, congratulations are in order for your weight loss!
I too have lost about they same amount of weight, and still losing.
Your diet plan is pretty much what has been prescribed, but I started from a much higher number. I have quite a bit more to go. Imagine about 3 more sacks of potatoes!

My insulin dropped from 75 units per day down to 20 units. And I give myself my chocolate once a week when we do my shopping.

Sleep? What on earth is that?
I guess my body doesn't need at like it used to, I'll be up at all hours of the night. I pretty much live on cat naps.

Heh thanks for that.  I felt it was a good achievement and it did the job re the diabetes.  Sounds like you've done well with your weight loss too.  As I always say, a pound a week is a bag of spuds in a year!

I've stopped cutting back now pretty much, although if I had the spuds/pasta etc, it would be too much for me, so I guess my eating habits have changed for the good.  I'm still not having any refined sugars and probably won't ever again.  Although I'm not trying to lose weight any more, I'm still losing at a rate of 1lb every couple of weeks, so I guess it will plateau out at some point.
If I can just get down to 5st I'll be happy (joke!)

So your sleep is bad too?  After a single bad night, I often feel energized the next day, but if it goes on for a while, I slowly crumble.  At the moment I'm taking a product called Nytol which is made from valerian root.  It's helped but not fixed the issue.

I know you're not supposed to sleep in the day, but I have to.  Around 3pm I just go and have to take a nap.  Oh well, hopefully it will correct itself in time.

We had a bit of bad news, my daughter is buying a house and has been scammed out of the deposit.  It was an email scam and was very sophisticated.  The solicitor, banks and police are investigating so we really hope she can get her money back.  It was a high figure.

That's all for now, but keep smilin' :-)

Cheers

Hello Stevey,

I do hope that your daughter is able to recover her funds. It's unfortunate that that there's so many scams out there at present.
Years ago my mum was taken for about $20,000. It was a bit of a sum that she had borrowed from my brother without his knowledge. She assumed that she would get the money back and nothing would ever be noticed. She was led to believe that there was a huge profit to be made.
Needless to say that put a huge damper on their relationship. My brother just about never got over that one.

I currently take a few medications to help me sleep, and they are quite effective for approximately 3 to 4 hours. But then I awaken and am again unable to sleep. I have therefore fallen into the habit of taking a nap whenever possible.

This week has been rather busy with tests and doctors visits. All of which have returned quite good news, so I'm counting my blessings.

I'm rambling a bit much now so I'll call this it. Do have a good day and keep in touch.

Hi Justagirl

Sorry for the very slow reply.  I've been obsessively researching the scammers, day and night lol.  There's lots of public info on the Internet and I started with the company name and found the owners, their address, web site phone number, email and post code along with tons of other info.  Mind you, I don't know if these are the scammers details as they may have had their ID stolen.  I've passed all the info onto the solicitor and asked them to pass it on to the banks/police.  Hopefully it will be of some use.

Many of the banks in the UK have signed up to something called the CRM code which allows them to refund victims of a scam as long as the victim isn't shown to be 'grossly negligent'.  I'm sure for such a high sum, the bank will want to play hard ball, but my loins are girded in advance! :-)

I'm so sorry your mum got scammed.  That's a lot of money. Did she ever recover it?  I can see how that would cause a family rift.

about your sleep - that's my experience too.  If you can't drop off, there's plenty to help but it wears off in the night.  If you wake up in the early hours, there's nothing that helps.  I'm, like you - once I wake, that's it and I can't lie in bed motionless for hours.  It's a difficult one!

Are you able to share your good news on the forum?  Obviously, if it's personal, that's your business :-)  Any way, I'm glad your news is good :-)

Have a good day and I'll make an effort to post up more quickly!

Cheers

Steve

This week has been rather busy with tests and doctors visits. All of which have returned quite good news, so I'm counting my blessings.
Yes, the good news is that my kidney function returned to "normal", I had been at stage 3 kidney disease since the Covid vaccination shut my kidneys down and I almost died.
I only changed two things in my diet, and one was removing diet drinks.

It was also suggested that I eat liver and onions twice a week because of my severe anemia, and that also improved when I amended my diet. I'm unsure if the liver and better blood/iron levels helped my kidneys as well.

The doctor was quite impressed to say the least. I went from kidney disease to normal between blood tests that were drawn 30 days apart.

That's brill news!  Mind you, I'm not sure how you can eat liver (ugh!).  I can't stand it!  Well done for reversing the condition!

If you had sever anemia, that must have been exhausting.  I'm guessing you're feeling a whole lot better now?

I slept the entire night last night and woke up at 6am which is a definite step forward for me.  Hope it continues......

I'm applying for some voluntary work with the local council.  It involves setting up computers and teaching people who are digitally excluded how to use the Internet.  Hope I get it as I think I would love it.

The gyne seems to be receding which is good.  No nipple pain and the lumps don't seem so bad.  Mind you, I'm getting pretty hairy, with a lot of extra hair on my belly, so I wonder if the estrogen dominance is receding.  I haven't got the urge to 'hunt and gather' yet, so see what comes up.  I've had an issue for temperature regulation for some time, but I'll make a separate post about that.

The sun is shining here today.  I love the summer.....

Keep Smilin'

Steve :-)

Hi Again

I just re-read your post about Covid that must have been pretty scary!  I had it too, but it was after my 4th vaccination and presented itself as a super-mild cold, just a bit sniffly.

I've seen on the news many times stories about people who were affected very badly by Covid.  It's pretty scary!  I'm glad it's pretty much gone now.  There were loads of conspiracy theories about the vaccine over here, But I got jabbed as quick as I could!

I stay out of the vaccine debate.  Either an echo chamber or shouting match.
Not worth it.

I got the bug in Jan. of 2020 when no one knew what was going on, and avoided the juice.  never had it again, but had the long haul for two plus years.

The thing that i have been seeing is that everyone is having their own experience with the boobs in many ways.

As I previously posted, there are aspects physically that tells me I may have aspects of hermaphroditism and outside of awareness of them, they are starting to manifest themselves even more.

Women's pants fit far better, women's shoes feel better, having the bra is natural, etc.

My hands I reviewed again, and outside the larger aspect, my hands seem to follow a more feminine shape, but actually are larger overall.
