  • Levick removed on 18/03/05, get in!!!!!
Just thought i'd let you all know that I had surgery with Levick on friday and have just got back home, had to stay in an extra night as a result of excess bleeding on one side.  I can't actually believe that it is all gone, no more gyne!!

I know it's too early to come to any conclusions but II'm pretty happy, I can wear a t-shirt and it is a lot less noticable, I have a lot more padding on my left side as it bled and he had to come into my room and get some blod clots out, which was pretty scary as the needle looked about 2 foot long!!  The right side which he said went find is looking a bit concave at the mo, but I understand this can happen sometimes and it will all even itself out over time.

I will keep you posted on how things are going, gonna take off the bandages on thursday and have a good old nose at what he's done!!

3 days post op now.

All I can say is that it bloody itches, absolutetly everywhere under the bandages is itching like crazy and its driving me mad, can wait for them to come off.

No real pain, just tightness where under the bandages and vest.  It only hurts when I get up after having been sat down in my soft sofa for a while or getting out of bed in the morning, slept most of last night sitting up propped up with about 4 pillows.

I get a really hot rush to my right nipple and a very tingly sensation when I get up or over exert myself, I assume this is normal but if anyone else has had this and could reassure me it would be good, from reading other people's diaries I assume this paranoia is normal and will subside.

Have been toddling round the house all day with not much bother at all, apart from boredom.

Will keep you posted of how I'm getting on, take bandages off on thursday and to be honest am not really looking forward to seeing the damage, but then again I can't wait, its weird!

And sorry for the rambling  ;D

My bandages came off at the hospital, and mr levick advised to simply wear the vest when i get home...

under the bandgaes it was as expected....lots of bruising, looks like ive had an awsome fight (or beating!)...my chest appears to be filling out a bit, although im sure i have fluid on one side..Im going to ring the doc 2mrw and arrange for removal hopefully...anyone know how soon it has to be removed?

6 Days post op

Thursday now, almost a week gone.  Bandages came off this morning, was a pretty weird feeling when I got them off.  Still very numb on both sides, right chest is very concave whilst the left is a different story.  Right hand side, the one that went well, hardly any bruising at all, left hand side has a hell of a lot.

Phoned up Levick this morning and had a chat about everything, told him that I felt the left side had a lot of fluid build up, it's almost the same size as it was before, and when I press it I can feel the liquid moving around, not a very nice sensation!  Levick said wait until tomorrow and phone back and if he reckons I need draining he will phone GP and get him to do it.  Has anyone else had this done by their GP? Do you get anasthetic?  Bit worried as this weekend is a bank holiday and Levick is in Portugal!! and my doc is shut until tuesday.

All in all, right side is going great, no pain and very little bruising.  If only left side was the same all would be fine and dandy.  If anyone can reassure me that this fluid build up is not gonna be too much of a problem I would appreciate it, im shitting myself about it  :(

When is Mr Levick leaving for Portugal and when is he coming back? I remember him mentioning it to me on Saturday morning but I don't recall the dates... just wondering as my bandages are coming off tomorrow and I'm supposed to give him a call to tell him how things are looking.

I think he's just going over the easter weekend, friday-monday, but i'm not 100% sure.  I spoke to his secretary who said that there will be someone to asnwer the phones and pass on any messages to Levick who will give you a call even when he's away if there's a problem, he really is a top bloke!!

Im sure i read that any fluid thats built up will eventually absorb back into your system but it would take time.  So dont worry about having a build up for a few days it wont harm you.

I know that fluid will eventually be absorbed back but I guess I just wanted everything to be perfect, the right side is, the left isn't.  I just wish they were both the same so when I wore clothes there was some symmetry.  I feel like until they both heal i'm gonna carry on trying to cover it up like i did with the gyne, thats what I wanted to get rid of!!
