Tests on Tuesday, then book back with the doc the following week!

Apparently there is a plastic surgeon who specialises in breast reduction/enlargement/cancer on my doctors books who performed 1000's of operations similar to mine!! Forgot the name DOH!!!

Had the results back............. went in sat down: "Do you drink heavily?" One of the enzimes in my liver was a little high with no reason as to why so i am booked in for another blood test in 4 weeks!

I said and my hormone levels are all ok are they? Doctor: "Oh those results have not come back" Me: "Well i have done a little bit of research on my condition and found that really those are what could determine weither i can go straight for surgery or need other treatment first" I also told her the few little things that i mentioned in the first posts as to why i have reason to believe my hormones may need tampering with. Short pause from the doctor: "I will get onto the lab right away and get those results phone me friday and i will tell you if you need to come back and see me or to book appointment with the PS"

So thanks to this site, i feel i could get a job at my doctors! HEHE other than me knowing a little bit more than her about my condition, she was very nice!

Hope everyone had a happy christmas and looking forward to the new year!!

Sorry i have been quiet but thats just what its been! I have my password and everything to phone the hospital to get an appointment with a NHS surgeon to take a look at me but i think i am scared! I've had the letter for a fortnight now and been able to do nothing!

Deep down i don't know weither i want to risk NHS and if i could afford/get a loan i would go to Poland tomorrow, and after reading about NotFedUp swimming again and not being worried at all its giving me another kick up the back side i think!

Everything just builds up inside of me  >:( i'm sick of not being able to wear all of my clothes and the fact that i can't just get rid of my boobs right here right now without spending a penny! But again to lazy/chicken to get the ball rolling! AAAHHHHHGGGGG

Rant over.....

Alright dude,

been reading this thread with interest as I am once again in your shoes really!!!

You mentioned you didn't know whether you wanted to go NHS, but a great many surgeons on the NHS also have private practises, so the skill of the surgeon doesn't really change from the two - and in fact I think I'd prefer to have an NHS only - they're more strictly monitored for perfomance i would guess, but I think its the ATTITUDE of the NHS that can suck. After my 1st op, my GP said that I should have come to see him first and he would have firmly advised not to go for any surgery (a view that has been echoed by other posters about the NHS) - not exactly the hopeful proposition I would have wanted after approx 16 years of torment for having jugs.

I dont think it can hurt to go see the NHS surgeon and check his credentials / experience and optimism for your situation. However if after also getting feedback from people etc that these Polish guys can whip up a storm, but for money, then I wouldn't really factor the money side into the equation. Its the quality of the results that should be the ONLY factor in my opinion. I'd gladly trade my last 5 years for a reliable surgeon that cost the earth!!! But that's just my opinion.

For now, I read on with interest in your case and others, to gain info also. Good luck.

By the way, who is the NHS surgeon that you may be seeing / ringing?

Cheers!

Morning Gents! Sorry its been a while since i posted but i had my consultation on the NHS today! First thing i said was, have you done it before on a regular basis? He said does Monday morning count and an average of 2 a week? So i calmed down then  ;D

Thinks its not that bad and that there will be to insisions (sp?) under my pits where lipo is performed and he says for the lumps they have a tool that can go in the same hole and (how he describes it) "chew away at the breast bud" so i will be left with two very minor scars! He said he will start with that and if thay doesn't work he describes the next stage as quite 'harsh' on the recovery, a half moon under the nipple and cut away from there, which could leave my nipples saggy because of the skin stretching so a 'dohnut' would be cut around the nipple then stitched up to tighten the skin which would leave a noticable scar! :o

That bit worried me a little as i had not heard of that on here but he seams to think that just the lipo and the 'tool' will be able to fix me and with me being young the skin should tighten up great!

What do you guys think? Waiting list is around a few months 6 tops! Also i mentioned compression vests and he said he doesn't recommend them but can be used, he just uses a very tight dressing around the chest like a 'boob tube'!  ???

I feel a giant step has been made today, but still would like your thoughts!

Ross

Mmm, I saw two NHS surgeons, the first one was terrible, the second one said the same sort of thing about donuts. I saw a Dr Benito and had my surgery in spain for less than 3 grand. He said that i definitely wouldnt need my nipples cut unless there was a lot of bleeding and that was the only way they could get in there to stop it. Im delighted with my results so far and have two small incisions on my chest as he doesnt like to mess with peoples nipples.

I would recommend having a consult with at least one other private ps so you have a comparison to go by. I was really worried by spending the money at first but now i think every penny of that 2 and a half grand was well spent and am glad i didnt go with either nhs ps i saw. It  really depends on the individual you see, you see.

Good luck with it!

Hello again to all.......... its been a while!!!!

Got a call finally from the hospital monday to go in for a consultation on the 2nd Aug (tomorrow) because there is a new surgeon.........

Got another call not 5mins ago saying if i am happy with it i can get the op done on the 10th Aug (a week on Friday!!!!!!!!)

Ok so a number of things are going through my head once more...... great i can get rid of them, am i going to be messed up, what if theyd ont know what they are doing! All these kind of things which i am sure you all went through!

My question, would you guys if given the choice take on this at such short notice, and where can i get me a compression vest for rather cheap and within 12 days delivery?

Thanks,
