Not everyone is going to be happy 100% of the time some people expect to come out like superman.

I personally like Mr Levick and his work is backed by BMI's free revision work if needed.

2 names come up all the time as the best for gyno in the UK Levick and Karidis

This is why I went for Levick

Fixed price inc revisions and free consultations
no cuts to the nipple
he has done far more than Karidis and is much more experienced and developed his own way.

Things that put me off Karidis

Every patent has to pay £170 for a bloodtest
I have seen people quoted almost £2000 more than Levick from him
I am unsure if he charges for revisions.

I'm pretty certain with any revision surgery with Dr. Karidis, there is a charge. If my memory serves me right, his office said that it's not his charge, but the charge for the use of the equipment, facilities at wherever he does his surgeries. Doesnt sound cheap. Additionally, Dr. Karidis would have to be convinced that a revision is necessary.

My gut instinct with Mr Levick is that if a patient isn't happy, even if he thinks the patient should be, he'll probably still offer revision surgery. I could be wrong, but that's just the impression I got from him, from the way he seems to care about his patients. And as correctly mentioned, there are no additional costs for any revision surgery with Mr Levick.

Thanks for your reply Swilson, was very helpful. So just to confirm the vest that is given by Mr Levick to wear overnight..you're allowed to keep this?

So if I understand it right, if my surgery is on...

Monday morning: Surgery
Monday day/evening/night: Recovery
Tuesday: Around 11am ward round and (if all clear) discharged.

Have I got it about right?

Thanks again.

Yes that's correct you get to keep the vest you wake up in after surgery.

And yes, if you are booked in for surgery Monday morning (I was told Levick carried out surgeries Wednesdays and Thursdays), you would spend the rest of that day in recovery at the priory. It's very good and the staff are brilliant. Nothing is a bother to them. You have 1 button on a remote which summons nursing staff (handy for needing the toilet and getting them to remove the wires from your cooling vest and leg pumps, and also if you have any concerns), and another button for 'room service' as they called themselves. Will bring you drinks/food if you request it. They are very accommodating. I never called them but my wife did when I was in surgery and they sorted her a hot drink.

The following day I think levick came round to discharge us around 9:30 to 10:00. Once this was done, I then had to wait for nurses to do their bit, sort out my meds and talk through a few things. By the time this was done I was out of the hospital just after 11am.

I'm pretty sure if you were ready for discharge earlier than the time of your taxi, you'd be fine staying in the room. If it were me I'd be tempted to book transport for 11:30-12:00, just in case things took longer than anticipated, as I'd rather be sat in a nice warm room with sky tv for an extra hour than risk having taxi meter running if levick was running late for any reason.

May even be a question you put to levick at your consultation, I'm sure he would give you an good idea of his usual discharge routine.

Awesome, thanks for all that info Swilson, really does help.

Yeah I think my surgery is on a Wednesday (need to double check!) I just put Monday above as an example.

Can't wait to have these boobies out! (sorry)
