Stitch removal

apart from one's own doctor, where can u go and get the stitches removed?

I'm not really on talking terms with my doc, haven't even seen him for 3 years, cos he's so busy anyway ...
so can one go to any clinic / hospital out-pateint dept - if having previously informed them?
I don't know how the NHS works etc cos I haven't been ill in years.

If it is my own doctor then I'll have to book now to be seen in 3 weeks time.

It's highly likely your practice nurse will be able to remove stitches.  However, if you wish to change GP or practice, your health authority will do so.  You do not need to give a reason and they aim to offer you an alternative within two days.
