Surgery with Karidis Done! - With Pics

Yea I'm at the stage like yourself where it just feels like its ment to happen now, hopefully i can get a quick date and follow not too far behind.

Do you have to return for a follow up with karidis anytime soon?

Yes, they recommend 4 weeks.  But I heard thetodd mention to leave it more, maybe 8-10 weeks.  As I think things are still in such a state of flux at the four week post stage, maybe wait a wee while longer will be more of an indication of the final look or will give time for anything that will arise, to erm....arise

Yeah I've booked mine already. The 09th November, think it's basically 6 weeks from now. Amy the nice (and hot) nurse recommended 4-6 weeks but I don't know what's best.

I kinda regret not having this done sooner but even that in itself is a bit of a moot point.  I think when anyone gets this surgery done, it's at exactly the right time, fate and all that.  I never had the time or money before or more importantly, the balls.

This, definitely. I joined this forum in November 2011 and do not regret waiting until now to get the surgery done. Having said that, it still feels surreal, almost as if I haven't had it done and this is all a dream.

Certainly takes some adjusting to, still taking it in myself.  But every day that passes, the old memories really do start to become past tense.   Not just wishing it away anymore, surreal in the fact that to the likes of us, it's better than a lottery win!

Totally agree. I've had a few moments. Today for example, I was sat in front of the mirror at the hairdressers  and all of the memories of having been previously sat in front of the mirror at the hairdressers looking at my chest (because you have to wear your t-shirt) came flooding back! Felt real good this time to see a flat chest there!

Quick Head's Up - 12 days Post op

Starting to look like I never even had surgery when I take the garment off with regards to bruising and external scars.  Arnica cream twice a day seems to have done wonders with the bruising. 

Still a long way off but actually not being afraid of mirrors anymore is a welcome plus.  I plan on wearing the garment as much as possible for another two weeks and start massaging in a week or so. 

Trying not to get impatient is harder than imagined, but will endeavor to keep taking things easy.  Will see about doing light cardio on my turbo trainer in a few days time, deffo been doing some comfort eating

Sounds like your moving along nicely, can't wait til I can post on here and be able to share my experience.

Seems to have been a real rush of people on this forum completing their surgery last couple of months, all helping pass the time til can look towards a date for me and letting me see more and more of what to expect/look out for, I've spent hours reading these boards

Two weeks to the day til my consultation,  hope I can get in and start healing before Xmas would be awesome

You started to massage it yet?

Does everyone need to massage or does it depend on how bad the scar tissue is?

Been looking into the differing theories on massage recently, still very tender in places but can feel rock hard bits here and there, like some have said before, as hard as bone! Little welts here and there, mainly under or to the side/flank of my pecs. 

Chest looks ok'ish relaxed, different story when arms raised or tense it.  You can see all the gory details of what must be happening underneath, would be freaking out now if I didn't know about the recovery phases etc.

I'm holding the phone in the air with my right arm and you can see how it concaves a bit when the arm is raised.
