Is there any chance the gland can grow back?

there is, if your hormones arent normal. that's why they need a blood test before they operate.
if the gland's been the same for many years then it's likely that they're normal, and won't grow back.
obviously steer clear of any hormone changing drugs like steriods and you'll be fine.
