Update# 2: Sharp pains is not the word... It felt like I got stabbed and they were removing the knifes. I wanted to scream. I dont want to put anyone off but yeah it did hurt but maybe im a 'wuss' like Levick called me lol.

Thats the only place where I am feeling pain, it is right uner the arm so moving them is difficult

I am also on Cefalexin which will take care of infections.

I am going to update throughout the week using my phone... Laptop is too big to use.

Ps superbad is the best movie ever!!

Strange, some people feel pain with the drains others don't......... I didn't really feel much pain, but I did feel light headed and a bit queasy for around 15 mins after having the drains out.......... I always find it a bit creepy seeing them pulled out, there is always a lot more tube inside me that I expect there to be, it is a gross feeling.

Some nurses are better at removing them than others.......

The pain should start to get better over the next few days mate....

Hello Hope, I'm very glad you got it all over and that you are well.
When i had the drains removed it was just a uncomfortable feeling as i felt the tube sliding out inch by inch and it seemed never ending but i didn't feel any "pain" just a bit of discomfort so yes i guess you are a wuss lol

the pain will slowly go down, you will then notice that the swollen and bruised areas go all hard kind of, you wont be able to stretch your arms up-wards till quite a wile after. (cant even do it now properly lol) feels like i am ripping something when i do but that will soon be gone. give it a week and you will feel awesome! i promise you :)

keep us updated

Update #3 Seriuosly the drains were the worst part!!

No one is at home today so I got to move around the house a bit. My problem is that I am so uncomfortable.

I cant move my arms freely and I cant stand up straight. When i walk my back is bent like im a hunchback. Is this normal?

I just peeked at my chest and I have got a hole in it!!!! (I didnt look at them when the nurse pulled the drains out) it looks gory...

However i think I will be caught out soon by my fam as I cant possibly stay at home for 1 week. I hope that I cqn
Move freely by Sunday otherwise I am going to tell my mum that I had an accident at football and bruised my rib hence the bandage.

I still cant beleive its finally over and now I just have to recover.

I agree!...I know it won't be easy but if you can confide in your Mum or another family member it really will help!...Mums generally just want the best for their kids so I'm sure she will understand and only nag you for not discussing it all earlier on!

Good luck, you'll be fine.
Before you criticise a man walk a mile in his shoes, after that who cares? your a mile away and have his shoes.

Update #4: I will only tell my mum if I still cant walk properly in
The next couple of days. Otherwise everyone thinks I am ill.

I couldnt sleep all night because I had terrible back pains?! I then realised it is because of my sleeping position. I hope I dont have to sleep on my back for long because it is not comfortable.

I am getting better at moving my arms but still cant walk totally straight.

I thought recovery would have taken a couple of days...

When did you take the bandages/ dressings off? I am going to take them off next week Friday by Levick. I am not allowed to shower till then!!

Update #5:

I can move alot more than I could now and feel as though I am recovering quickly.

Levick said that about 50g of gland was taken from one side and about 80g on the other!! That is alot...

I might phone Levick a day or 2 earlier to take the dressings off because I really want to shower.

I still cant believe I had the surgery but its over with now.

I took the dressing off the following day ... but thats because my skin was itching like a mother f*%"^&r .... I had an allergic reaction to the surgical glue, but it was okay to just put on a compression vest straight away ... when you speak to Levick he'll tell you as long as you put on the compression vest you'll be okay.

Remember when you take of the dressings, prepare to be shocked. And remember its not the final results ... your gonna have scar tissue and what not for several months atleast before it fades away ... with me I saw my final, final, results around 14 months later, and yeah, theirs some left underneath my arms which is now visible due to weightloss.

But all in all, its good to hear your recoverin quickly, I hope the same applies to me after my revision because I think I got an exam couple of days after surgery which is a p-take, but I dont want to reschedule my op, I want to get it done and over with.

The back pain / discomfort is normal mate....... you can't sleep in a normal position so really you are never allowing your muscles to relax.    I remember the back pain being worse than the actual wound / operation site after my op.............. I suggest taking pain killers 30mins before bed time and using as many pillows as needed to prop yourself up.

The dressings do start to itch and smell a bit, I'm sure taking them off and wearing the compression vest would be no disaster, but give HRH a ring and find out.

The whole area is quite frankly going to look bruised and pretty sh*tty when you finally get a look at..... expect it to be multi colored, bumpy and sore!    At this point you may wonder what the hell you have done to yourself....... but don't worry it is all normal.

These are all the joys of cosmetic procedures that no one tells you about pre-op......

Edit:

The good news is after a week the worst of it is over and things start to rapidly improve.

Update #6:

It has been exactly 1 week since my surgery.

The pain now very minimal and I am able to go out easily do what I want.

I am having a problem taking the dressing of but I have a solution. I am going to cut around the padded area and leave the sticky part on my body. I am then going to take a shower and wear the compression vest.

You lot warned me about the looks and I just had a look and there is hardly any bruising!!!!!

I honestly think I can go out bare chested and no one would think that I have had surgery!! Not going to do that though :)

My chest is alot flatter and looks 'normal'.

I will post pics later after I have had the shower.

So far so good :D

Smashed it mate, send a thank you letter to Levick lool ... Sounds like he's done a fantastic job @ his end.

And your body seems to be doing a top job healing aswell if you say your not shocked by the first impressions after having a peek ... Carry on taking it easy for another week or two just for the sake of it!

I have been out all day and just came home.

I played football for a bit and during it I was fine, but as soon as I stopped my chest was hurting like crazy.

I am going to try a take the drrssing off now and have a shower if I can.

Yeah im going to send a letter to Levick just saying thankyou, he has been fantastic.

I think I should take it easy (no more footy) for another couple of weeks then I want to go back to the gym.
