Insurance companies are loathe to pay for gynecomastia -- most lump it in with "cosmetic surgery" and refuse to pay.

Once in a rare while, they may pay something for the surgery.  It is best to inquire directly to your company prior to surgery as to their policies towards coverage for gynecomastia surgery, or as they put it, "subcutaneous mastectomy."  Most companies have very strict criteria.  For example, you cannot be or have been overweight.  You must have had had the condition for several years without any change.  There must be pain or tenderness in the breasts. If you consider mental anguish to be part of your problem, then you must be prepared to present a letter from a mental health professional attesting to that fact.

In sum, the barriers are steep -- but some patients are persistent and some companies are more lenient.

Fees, of course, will vary with every individual's problem.

If you would like to have an email evaluation, then send me a pm with your real name and email address.  I will send you details about getting the info and photos to me.

Can you give a range? E.g., surgeon fee, procedure room fee, anesthesia cost assuming glandular removal and 100-200 cc of lipo?
