Hey guys, I'm 17 and I'm not really sure if I have mild gyno?  :-\ I'm 5'10', weigh around 10 stone, and have quite a thin build  - but am kinda flabby (well in my opinion) so I was wondering whether this was gyno or I just need to exercise and weight train a lot more (I've recently started to do more than I had before - which isn't saying much lol. So I just do a few sit-ups and use dumbells but obvs need to do more) It's really begun to get me down lately, I won't take my top off at any time!! lol.
What are any of your opinions? Any regime I should adopt or consider any other options? Thanks.

haha, I know and I deffo plan to do that, either way.
But I just have this notion that it's not just that - I mean I don't think my chest area should look like that on a small frame. It obviously protrudes and, I dunno, I just wouldn't expect something like this on my build if it weren't gyno. Do you reckon it's worth going to see my GP (I guess that's a family doctor in the US?), so he can have a proper look? And if it';s not gyno he can always suggest a diet/exercise regime lol.

No gyne or very mild case it appears. Get to the gym, work out with some buddies, eat a good diet, get plenty of rest and sleep. Let's look at this in 6 months. Don't do anything drastic, let's take this one small step at a time. Jake

Hmm, thanks for the responses, guys.   :P
What sort of workouts should I do/how often? I'm not really an expert on it at all lol.
Is cardio work a good thing? I'm actually so rubbish at running lol, never was my forte; I always was a fast runner as opposed to a long-distance one.
And chest exercises?
Also what sort of foods should I be eating and what should I be avoiding?
Sorry for the 20Q haha, and if these questions are a bit out of your expertise.

Do yourself a favor and go to a plastic surgeon for their opinion.  All the exercise and diet in the world will not get rid of gynecomastia. Don't take my word for it go get checked out.

I should have gotten the surgery when I was 17 and I'm 33 now and just had it done.

Take a look at my pics in the *Fixed Photos* thread
Check out my surgery Pre and Post Op pics

That's almost nothing. Don't worry unless it gets worse. Eat healthy.

go see a surgeon for what ?     There's nothing there for him to go see a plastic surgeon for  LOL  the kid doesn't even have a CHEST, let alone "gyne"   (are u looking at the same pics we are ?) .

Anyway, we will have some suggestions for U young man on how to GAIN SOME WEIGHT and BUILD A CHEST--this is what your focus should be on..

Went to my GP today just in case and he said it wasn't gyno, and if it were, a really mild case. So I guess I'm kinda happy, but I also asked what sort of things I could do to lessen the look/effect of my chest looking as it does and he said there's not much to do. He said it'll all go away with time.
He said that chest exercises wouldn't make much difference at all?
Confused...  :-\
And also, I dunno I can sort of feel gland underneath there, but the GP didn't exactly give a thorough examination.  I think I can feel it there. How can i tell if it's gland or fat? I'm just really curious as to why I have man-boobs considering my frame - I know I'm not super-skinny elsewhere but... oh my. lol.

Basically what I'm asking is - if it's not gyno - why does it look this way? Is it possible it's just flab? Is it that bad, aesthetically? I'm feeling really insecure right now, and feeling a bit helpless  :-[

seriously dude you do not have gyne. The only thing you should be worried about is having too small of a chest lol. You should hit the gym and starting bulking up. Im still unsure whether i have glandular gyne or just fat deposits in my chest, but you can see for yourself here  http://www.gynecomastia.org/smf/index.php?topic=16150.0

Those pics are about a month ago, ive been going to the gym since then and ive been following the stronglifts routine. You can check it out here http://stronglifts.com/  let me tell you, in just a month of working out my chest doesnt stick out quite as much and looks a lot more tonned. Im on quite a good diet as i also do a lot of mma fighting. If you wanna know my routine for gym and diet just msg me.

Cheers dude

I signed up for the gym today!
And thanks for directing me to that stronglifts site, jonka, think I may try that routine.
I guess I'm feeling more hopeful now than before, I'm gonna work out and see what sort of results that gets.
Thanks for your responses guys, and good luck to all struggling with gynecomastia and related problems (Y)
