Hi Alan,

I think you may have missed the point Blatino and others such as myself were making.
I do believe that this in an emotionally crippling condition that sickens me to the pit of my stomach, but luckily I am 26 years old  and have the maturity to stay sain and cope on a day to day basis. Now, try and empathise with a 16 year old boy who has got the condition……don’t tell him he is f*cked!! Surgery!!! Bla bla bla…..All some of these kids want is a glimmer of hope not to feel even more depressed by everyone telling them they aint normal!!!
Telling some one to hit the gym isn’t misleading or that it may go in a few years….granted he hit puberty early and he has had this since an early age….but none of us knew this when we were giving him a bit of hope…
Yes, in his case surgery may be the only option but for many suffers of his age the problem will resolve on its own!!

Manboobmandan: Apart from the boobs you do look in great shape, i wish i had arms like that when i was 16  ;D

Alright m8. Well I can certainly see you have man boobs but they are not the worst I have seen on this site.

Firstly you are sixteen. I would hold off going under the knife just yet. Gyne resolves in most people. Unfortunately this site has quite a number of people where it didn't resolve but this does not reflect the large amount of people it does resolve in.

If someone hasn't already mentioned this I would see an endo and get your hormones checked out. The endo may well give you an indication of when puberty will finish for you  and you can tell if the gyne is reducing at all.No point getting surgery if you hormones aren't stable yet.

You say you work out two hours a day ,maybe look at what you are doing in those two hours and look at your diet. Someone who works out for two hours a day would see fat go at least in  areas other than the chest as well. Maybe get some advice at the gym or something.

So I would try a combo of waiting for puberty to finish and exercise. Then if you are still not happy with your chest look at surgery.

I'm by no means discouraging the gym, he already seems to be going there regulary without any results. I also wont put into his head that the more he works out and goes to the gym that his gyne will go away, because I know from first hand experiance that it does not, and I see no use in passing the advice along since I know its not true.

And I'm by no means encouraging surgery at such a young age, I'm just saying he should start considering it for the future. I know the truth hurts, but he has to hear it from someone. I'm sure he gets enough "Oh it looks fine, hardely noticable" from alot of people already, he's coming here for an honest opinion on what he should be doing.

I also agree that now he should maybe be seeing doctors and getting himself checked for underlying problems, all that junk.

I also think its a bad idea to start a thread asking if he needs surgery. It has no doubt started something between pro surgery and non surgery. I cant tell him if he needs it or not, if hes anything like Blatino maybe he can live with it. Maybe he cant live with it and needs it cut out, fine either way. The only thing I can tell him for sure is that if he looses weight and they still remain prominent at 180LB then he will need surgery to have them removed. We shouldent jump the surgery gun yet, but right now its not looking good.

One more thing for the OP, if you are feeling isolated and alone you need not be. Evreyone here can share many of  the same stories its a very sad condition. I suggest you go read up some stories in various sections of these forums. We are all in this together, if you are interested in pursuing surgery I back you 100%. If you chose to just live with your condition maybe you would find a place in the "acceptance forum" where I'm sure many others could help you.

It may yet go away on its own, but I dont think so. I'm sorry if I came off as negative I'm only trying to paint a more realistic picture for you. Best of luck in whichever option you wish to pursure, ultimately the decision is up to you and you alone.

EDIT- I withdraw some of my previous comments as they came off to harsh and it was not constructive posting.

Alan,
Its cool, we all type in haste  ;D.

Regarding the 2 hour gyme sessions Manboobmandan....if this is not working it comes down to a couple of factors:

1) Over training...Believe it or not but over training has a detrimental affect. If you do weights for longer then an hour it is counter productive...

I.e, If you train your chest more than twice a week it will get smaller. Thats why those who train loads get toned rather than muscular.....Pluse the word toned doesn't really exist in this contect. Toned is a constant state of tension/flex....:P . lol

2) How do you train? Do you spend three quaters of the time chatting?

3) What cardio machines? Are you going for the pointless and easy ones that serve no purpose?

Stick to the runner and rower....Nothing else.

4) Are you training in the correct heart rate for weight loss?

I think if you are doing cardio for 2 hours it isn't very intense......do it for half an hour at a higher intensity and the rewards will be higher :) .

Good luck

2 hours of cardio every day! I dont see how its possible that you still weigh 205 at 5'11 then, either your lying to us or you just eat very unhealthy(Or you just eat alot of food). Otherwise you should be seeing some change, at least in your weight.

......I have a fairly large build....i already lost some fat but i also gained some muscle...so mabye my thats y weight is still 205....my 2 hours is 'cardio'.whic is fo my heart .....not fat burn....although i do some fatburn.....i have no love handles(saying that because somt ppl on this site in the pics do)......i do eat a bit unhealthy im working on that....

I was just curious about the supplements to see if it may have caused the gyne. But protein is cool.....its the roids!!! :P . If you do ever decide to take them make sure you take an oestrogen bloxer like tamoxifen.....or the boobs will get worse.
