Open Wound 4 days after surgery

Hi:
It is 4 days after gynecomastia surgery, and I have an open wound near where my incision was, on my right areola. Don't know if that is because my stitches ripped. I don't have this problem on the left areola.
Wound does not seem very deep, but I am concerned. I am not scheduled to see my surgeon until January 7th. What should I do? I am worried this might need stitches and that it might leave a permanent scar.

I can't tell you what to do but if my incision looked like that and as was actively discharging fresh blood 4 days post surgery, I would call my surgeon immediately.   I have had 2 major ortho surgeries and after 4 days the incision site weren't healed but they looked healthier than than. He probably has a PA that will look at it first  so don't hesitate to call him.

The obvious answer is that you should contact your surgeons office.
