At 5'11" you're a good 60 pounds overweight.  I think you should focus on losing weight and getting into good shape.  Lifting weights doesn't make the gynecomastia worse; the larger pec muscles push the tissue out a little and that tends to make it more noticeable.  Same difference, I guess.  But slimming down will help your chest appearance tremendously. Try to focus on weight loss and maybe post new photos when your weight is down.

Best of luck- tough time of year to drop weight, but not impossible!

The nipple/areolar diameter will only shrink an appreciable amount when the breast tissue is removed.  However, if you lose a great amount of weight, like 50 or 60 lbs., you may see a little decrease in diameter.

Agree with Dr. Pope -- you should definitely lose weight.

And after weight loss, you will still have gyne (albeit somewhat smaller) and would probably require surgery to achieve a more masculine chest.  Your areolas are very large.  They will diminish very slightly with weight loss -- but would diminish much more after gyne surgery.
