Johndoe your right.  I see band size and cup letters as guides.  A point to start not end. 
  We, as men, do look at it differently.  Shape, comfort and concealment for the most part.  Not having  grown up having  the bra talk, at least for most, it wasn't a right of passage so to speak.  I approach it as if I were buying a good pair of hiking boots.  Has to fit well, be supportive & make the days activity one of joy not discomfort. 
I feel society does over sexualize a woman's breast, shape and appearance.  Sophie stated and noted the difference felt.
