short pants sizes

Today i bought some short pants or shorts whatever you want to say. I wear size 14 in womens jeans and thats what i bought. They are too tight . I guess they are higher in the waist than my jeans. So my question how can i tell if the are lowrise or high rise waist ? I guess i need size 16 in shorts Thanks

The best way is to simply ask a sales associate for which rise you want, and they'll show you.
