I am not sure if this is the proper section for this but here goes. As the title of this inquiry states: hot flashes, sore nipples and itching, all of these have been happening for 10 to 20 years to me but only within the last few years has any growth taken place. Are the above "annoyances" precursors for growth, or are they just "annoyances"? This question is one of curiosity more than one of need. Thanks!

This is probably as good of place as any other!

I had this same problem off and on over the years after losing my testicals. During the those times I would once in a while also have lactation too. I'm not sure if it was during those exact times or after they calmed down that I would have more growth in my breast! For a while they grow like wild weeds!

I used to tell Debbie I was going through menopause because I also would get night sweats sometimes. I haven't have a lot of large changes in growth in the last couple years (thank God) 46H is more then big enough to win a few wet tee shirt contest, but now and then I still feel I may have those pains, but not near as bad or long.

Itching generally happens when the breast gland is growing, the itch can be mildly annoying to very uncomfortable. This can go on for years depending on what is the underlying cause of the breast gland growth.

As for nipple soreness, this goes along with the gland growth, as your breast develops so does the nerve endings in your nipples, hence the pain. You may find that your nipples become very sensitive, this can be annoying if you are not wearing a bra and if your Lady is willing very pleasurable as well.

Breast growth is not uniform, it can be a throbbing pain, feel like a string is being pulled through the middle of your breast right through your nipple to simply sore. Bump into something during one of these really painful times and you will regret it. It is very painful.

Remember the only difference between men and women when it comes to breast development (and many other things) is your hormone balance, to much Estrogen and Progesterone and you will develop female characteristics such as breasts, lactation, softer skin, reduced body hair, shrinkage of your testicles and manhood, reduction in sperm and reduced sex drive.

And that is the short list.

I forgot to add that I have night sweats almost every night regardless of the amount of covers or not that I have on the bed. I completely understand the bumping into things when the nipples are a bit "touchy". OMG! They can hurt. They double me over sometimes because I can really bang them at work in the boiler room. I was wondering if they are all tied together and from what you have expressed to me...yes they are. They get so tender I cannot have anything touch them and was constantly pulling my shirt away from my chest. Once I had to start using a bra, the touching was not nearly as bad and banging them is not as hurtful. Thanks for all the advice, it has helped, helped, helped! Thank you my brothers!!!

I used to have hot flashes, they're a thing of the past now. And I'm even more thankful the pain I would feel when one of my breasts got bumped is also gone. One more thing to be thankful for Bob! I remember banging my breast against the edge of the car door. I may as well have slammed my fingers in the door. I don't think it would have been any more painful. I still bump my breasts into things once in awhile, but I sure am glad it's not painful like it was in the beginning! I also still have itching once in awhile, but that has never bothered me. It's not an intense itch like a mosquito bite or poison ivy.

I don't get the constant soreness that I got when I was younger.  However, if I am bra less (only around the house), my nipple will get raw and painful from rubbing on the inside of my shirt.

As your breasts grow you will find that you will occasionally bump into things and people with them.

That is one of the weird things that happens, to turn around as you would normally, at least before the "girls" arrived, and knock stuff off bookcases, tables, ladders and such. Since giving up the use of ace bandages to squash the "girls" I am banging the pair into pipes and such here at work. Got myself into a tight area for a repair job and was trying to wedge myself into a better access spot, but it would require that I have a pipe running between the "girls"...I decided not to. I moved to a better spot and got the job done. The things we have to watch for that we did not before. Still...life is good!

Hammer: You are not kidding! I am one of two engineers in a boiler room and with the building being 45-50 years old, we are constantly doing repairs and such and a steam pipe can burn you even through a bra... words of experience. Another joy is cranking on a 36 inch pipe wrench trying to remove a pipe and the wrench slips. The "girls" find a hard surface before the rest of your chest and you think you caved your "boobs" in. They just ache and you still have to get the job done. Fortunately the other engineer is my younger brother and he knows about the "girls" so if I have a mishap which brings the "girls" into contact with something they ought not to contact, and I let out an acknowledgement of dismay, he understands if I have to cup the "girls" and moan. Still, it could be a whole lot worse.

Having your brother be your coworker sure must save a lot of what could otherwise be very embarrassing  moments!

Having my brother know about my breasts is a load off my mind since there will be no odd looks if I resituate one or both of my boobs back into their proper spots in my bra (need a different bra for work). Currently the "girls" have been on a growth tear, since January, and I am outgrowing my bras. Went from a 44A/B to a 44 C/D or a DD depending on the bra I wear at the time. Turns out my hormones are way, way out of balance and the medication I am on for my prostate is greatly suppressing my testosterone. That explained the growth. It really gets sore when things are growing like that. Part of it may be that I measured myself wrong to start with and I was not as small as I thought. I measured au-natural whereas I put a bra on now and then measure. I am not sure which is the correct way to measure and have put a post up on the question. Be well all!

I had the growth pain on and off over a few years after losing my testicles, what a pain, sorry you have to have this fun.

If you haven't gone for a formal fitting yet, you should! Best thing I ever did when it comes to finding a great fitting bra.

Gentlemen, night sweats and hot flashes are exactly what women go through. Early in a girls development little hot flashes and light night sweats happen as the girls hormones begin to kick in. When a woman becomes pregnant these occurrences will be more intense and of course when a woman goes through menopause.

Everything is related to your hormone levels, wild peeks and lows can trigger hot flashes and night (sometimes day) fits of sweating. Such is the price we pay for having our hormone system screwed around.

There is help but you may not like it, at least at first. Your Endocrinologists (hormone specialist) can give you full blood work up and tell you what your Estrogen levels actually are (some of you may already have had this done). Then depending on your age, physical condition and what is or may be the underlying cause of your breast development, hot flashes and sweats the doctor can prescribe a low dose of Estrogen, taken orally, normally dissolved under to tongue.

This will
generally balance out your system towards the female side, the benefit is that the hot flashes and sweats will be a thing of the past. The down side is, increased breast development but likely no more than you are experiencing now. Think of it as HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) for men instead of women.

Now before you get all up in arms about taking additional Estrogen, there are certain advantages:

Your Prostate will shrink.
Your hair will stop falling out.
You will be less likely to have a heart attack.
You will look and feel younger.
And more.

Negative is the possibility of higher blood pressure but if you are already on medication for that you will generally not have an issue with your blood pressure.
If you have serious varicose veins then you run a small risk of DVT (Deep Vain Thrombosis) which could be life threatening. Your
Endocrinologists can advise you as to your specific risks.

There are other issues but most are minor once you are above 50.

I understand this is a lot to take in and that I have only scratched the surface of the benefits and negatives of Estrogen HRT for men. But it is worth putting it out here for all to consider depending on your unique situation.

My boobs are sore and itchy on a regular basis.
I sweat like crazy at times. Maybe this is why.
I'm Ted, and I have boobs.

What do you mean? Are you on medication for an enlarged Prostate?
