Underwire bras give better support due to the exoskeleton nature of the wire where soft cup bras have to be more engineered with material and cut to do the same job. It's a personal preference on which type to wear. The vast majority of women of all sizes and shapes wear underwire bras. It's actually getting harder to find a variety of styles in soft cup bras because the preference is underwire.

My personal preference is underwire for the better support and the better shaping I can get for the look I want to achieve. I find I get less movement of the tissue in an underwire bra than I do with a soft cup bra and it is easier to play down the breasts so they are not as noticed. I have found that too is the same reason most women prefer underwire. You can either play up the breasts or play them down depending on the type and style underwire bra. But if I am flying, I will wear a soft cup bra to not trigger the TSA scanning equipment and then have to go through a pat down and explanation of I am wearing a bra since I present male. I know if you present female, they don't bother you. Soft cups and bralet's are nice for lounging around the house when you don't want or need as much strict support and containment.
Dang I never thought about flying!
my wife and I are planning a trip back East in August. It occurred to me that I might “present” as female because of my breasts, my feminine physique, and what I am wearing, a cropped white Cami with spaghetti straps which my wife gave me for my birthday which shows a lot of skin. I figured I would wear it on the plane because it is comfortable and shows off my best features, my soft slender arms and shoulders.  Will this be an excuse for a horney hairy TSA agent to cop a feel?  I would be Ok with being fondled by a female, but not a male! I can’t believe my little 12 year old school girl breasts will trip a TSA alarm.  What should I do?

Even the hardware in the back triggered the metal detector at the court house when my wife went for jury duty.  I've wondered what would be the situation with those things that let them basically see you naked.  The "protection" they supposedly give is not a protection I want, at least at the price of such invasion of privacy.

It's not the fact you have breasts, its the scanner picking up on the bra. As you walk through the scanner they activate a male or female profile in the scanner that takes into account gender and gender traits such as bras and such. Some TSA officers will see a bra on a male and see it as a harness that could contain contraband or explosives. I would think if you appear to be presenting more female than male, they will screen you as a female and not bother you. If you are presenting mostly male, they will screen you male and you may trigger a personal search. If that happens you could say you are trans and prefer a female officer or they could just let you pass without anything further. It will depend on the airport, the screening officer and the number of people waiting to be screened. There is no "sure thing" to not get pulled.

You mentioned tops and bra matching and how you want to draw attention away from your breasts. I understand that you wear female tops at home, but do you wear female tops when you are out in public?  If so, what kind?
Halter tops, female tank tops? Camis?
I on the other hand have small 30B breasts so I wear push-up bras and plunging neck lines so as to make my breasts look bigger and hopefully show some cleavage so I’ll be noticed.
As to my up coming airline trip, I’ll stick with wearing my favorite crop top cami. All my friends tell me how much I look like my wife with my feminine upper body so I suspect the TSA people will let me pass through.

And I thought I had a small underbust.  Currently about 76cm underbust, which puts me close to smack centre in a 34 band (going by measurements, I haven't started wearing yet).  Although going by the abdominal fat that I still have, I do still have a bit to lose there.  But it's very unlikely to drop me that much.

In public, I usually don't wear male or female tops that actuate the breasts but will give a little room in the bust. Since I present male, I can never completely hide my bust because of my size, but I can/do wear male looking women's tops or unisex tops along with certain male tops. A trick a female friend told me about is you have to have the correct "foundation pieces" under the top to soften the curves for an undefined bust. There is still a bust, but it is harder to detect. To help smooth out the lumps and bumps of the bra, use women's layering pieces to hide the outline of the bra since those are designed to smooth and hide the lines of the bra without being seen themselves. I prefer a very snug bra band (tight) since it supports my DD's for better comfort. But since I have some flab around my ribs, which makes for great padding for comfort with the band, but causes an indention with the wires and band around my body that can be seen through single layer form fitting tops, larger women have this same issue, to keep the bulk down and for cooler temps, particularly in the  summer, I will wear either a form fitting (I have found out that 95% of women prefer TIGHT under layers) cami, or even a half slip and in the winter for warmth, I will wear a more covering cami or layering tank to smooth things out under whatever top I wear. I will wear button downs, male inspired female or male, that don't have darts in the bust. I even will wear a male inspired female polo that gives a little in the bust but doesn't have extra material in the waist. I have found a sloppy look will pull attention quicker than defined breasts. Tee shirts are also not out of the question in the summer, but to wear those, I don't wear it tight but let it flow over my body and not be form fitting, you see this look with many plus size women, with a minimizer tee shirt bra and a spaghetti strap cami which works pretty well for me. I don't wear deep V or deep princess neck or boat neck tops that are made to draw attention to the breasts but round neck tops or male looking neck lines. I try and keep the form fitting uniboob look to a minimum and if I show, show two distinct mounds that can be passed off as developed pecs in a glance, the lift and separate of underwires are perfect for that with a non clingy, non form fitting loose top, male or female. Women use this same trick to draw attention away from their chest. I have observed how women wear their tops and have gotten a lot of good tips and pointers.

I have this top in a few different colors https://www.torrid.com/product/harper--navy-georgette-pullover-blouse/12783302.html . Its a very light and thin material that is very comfortable. I usually wear with a cami under it, otherwise you WILL see my bra. It's very roomy in the bust which tends to understate my breasts. I like them because they don't look too feminine and can pass as a man's shirt.

Another trick i use are tankini tops for swimming. I stick with blouson styles that aren't as form fitting. They have built in breast cups that provide support with form and some compression.

And I thought I had a small underbust.
I began wearing a bra 1.5 years ago, but because I was the same size as my wife, 32B, she let me wear her bras.  Since then her bras have gradually become too big for me as my torso has become narrower, smaller so I went for a bra fitting. The girl remarked that even though all of her clients are women, I have the smallest underbust she has ever seen on a person of my height. This isn’t terribly surprising, all my life I’ve had to wear women’s watches because a mans watch would go half way up my forearm before starting to feel tight. So now I have a collection of 30B bras that are too tight for even my wife’s slender frame. This oddity is a result of my small bone genetics and my on going upper body feminization caused by my gyno. I’m fine with this because my breasts are more rounded and feminine looking because I am narrow set. I am hoping to grow into  a C cup in a year or so. How will this affect my wardrobe? Will I need to toss out all my tops as well as my bras?
Anyone?

I don't exactly have experience with women's sizing, but considering you're talking about one cup size I seriously doubt that you'll have to replace more than just your bras.

Of course that's assuming they grow more.  Remember, most of us stay small up there.  From what I could gather so far, C is actually pretty large for gyne (not referring to how large they can get but rather by what's common).

This is more a matter of curiosity, but what height are you?  From what you said such a small rib cage is obviously small for your height, but it made me wonder.  Personally I'm also built rather small, despite being 182cm (5'11.5).  As I said, my snug underbust is about 76cm.  I'm already down to about 65kg (give or take from day to day), and still have a very decent amount of abdominal fat.

I’m 5’7” lean 121 lbs. proportionally speaking, I would have a 32 inch underbust if I were your same height. So proportionally you are the same size as my 5’ 7” 126  lbs wife. I am 35 yo. My latest visit with my breast doc she told me I had crazy endo numbers.  My serum Estrodial is 40 times greater than my serum free testosterone, so breasts development and secondary female characteristics, soft hairless skin and small supple muscles, were inevitable. Before I got my breasts I was a lean155 lbs so all my weight loss has been muscle loss.
My condition is idiopathic which means nobody knows why I have such a large amount of Estrodial as I have none of the precursors of gyne
such as prostate/heart meds, illegal drugs, alcohol etc. That’s why I’m optimistic that I will continue to grow to at least a C cup, a D cup would be ideal, especially on my small frame. I do have a question: What is your cup size and do you think you will grow bigger?

My basic measurements are 76cm (snug) and 93cm, which puts me around 34C.  I've never seen a doctor about it, I suppose only time will tell what happens.

I was reading above about " a D cup would be ideal. I can say that from my experience, the bigger they are, the more work they become.

I was a D cup for a lot of my adult life and I have worn a bra fill time since I was sixteen. When I had to go to a D cup, I thought that " wow, I'm a D cup!" It wasn't long until I discovered that they were getting heavy and I wished that they were smaller. I knew that there was no going back. I remained a D cup for several years until thyroid cancer meant having a thyroidectomy which threw my hormones into a frenzy.

I started growing and growing. It seemed like I needed new bras every 6 months. I finally settled into a 38H where I remained for the last few years. I also grew a rounded bottom and hips to match.

Ive been losing some weight, almost 40 lbs now. My band is too loose and not able to do it's job anymore. Im going for a fitting later this week and Im hoping that I can wear a 34 band. Im afraid though that I may be in a I or J cup. We'll see 👀

I have had breasts very noticeably for 35 years.  I found that not only have I accepted them, but come to enjoy them.  Whenever I’ve intimate with former girlfriends or my wife, I’ve enjoyed my breasts being fondled and played with.  With the inspiration of this forum, I decided 5 months ago to wear a bra and to go get fitted.  One of the best decisions I ever made and should have done it a long time ago.  After I putting on my bra and shirt in the morning, I turn to the side and notice my breasts slightly project on my chest, nicely contained.  Nice more jiggling and nipple rubbing.  I believe I have acceptance and more.

A lot of guys feel the same way. When our breasts first appeared we were devastated, but after experiencing the perks of having breasts they love them. My story is much the same as yours. My wife is aroused by them then out comes  the baby oil for breasts fondling. Our sex life is vastly improved vs before I got my breasts.

Agreed with many. When mine came in I was seeking possible surgery and seen the costs and threw that idea out the window immediately. They kept growing a little and I dealt with it my shirts got tighter and when I lean over or sit down you can tell I have breasts. They aren’t D cups but small b cups and I’ve come to enjoy them. They are very sensitive to touch and playing and wife and I have a very non existent bedroom life right now but it would be nice to feel her touch to them
