Acne before surgery

I have bad acne on my back and some on my shoulders for years.  I'm scheduled to have surgery with Dr Delgado in three weeks and I've only just thought to mention this to him. Is this going to be an issue? Is there anything I can do?

You can contact Dr. Delgado's office for a more definitive reply, but unless you have some sort of active infection, particularly in the surgical field, you should be fine.

Active infection anywhere on your body poses an increased risk of infection.  I do not operate on patients who have active acne -- there are a myriad of medications which can quiet it down prior to surgery.

You should discuss this with Dr Delgado.

First ,you have selected  a good surgeon I suggest you ask him. Young patients have in some cases have continuous acne and I have not personally found it to be a problem with surgery.
