Hello
I've had bilateral surgery to remove my gyno  2-3 month ago and I still feel lumps under and around my nipple. it's sore as it use to be before surgery and now I'm taking anastrozole and it helps.
My nipples still puffy and i don't want to take expensive drug for it
The surgeon tells me that its scar tissue but I do not believe him.
Any suggestions what I can do?
Thank you

It is normal to feel some lumps in the surgical site for months after the surgery while the healing process takes place.  Depending on how firm the nodules were before surgery, you may always feel some firm nodules directly under the nipple. In some situations, however, scar tissue develops and you might feel firm nodules long after a point that the scar tissue should have softened.  If it's deemed to be scar tissue, a trial of cortisone (Kenalog) can be used as an injection, and scar tissue will often dissipate with an injection or two. Your surgeon will know best what he or she did and what risk you have for feeling a lump--and whether that lump is gyno tissue or it's scar.  If you don't believe your surgeon, perhaps you chose the wrong surgeon.
