If you have used marijuana 3 weeks before your surgery, is it a possible the gyne may come back because of the marijuana after the surgery?  This question may sound a bit ridiculous, but I'm just curious, cause I believe the THC stays in your system for longer than 3 weeks

Yes, you are correct.  Marijuana can be detected in your body four weeks later.

Personally, I doubt if your situation would have any effect on the results of your surgery.

And although some sites on the net talk about gyne cause by marijuana, there are actually no medical studies to prove or disprove it -- one way or another.  It is not possible to do a proper, large scale medical study on an illegal substance.  Therefore, we actually do not know if it has a causative effect on gyne. Rest assured, however, that you will hear anecdotal stories from both sides of the fence.

I would second Dr. Jacob's sentiment.  Recently, in response to another question regarding the marijuana connection, several of us expressed doubt over a strong relationship between gynecomastia and marijuana as a causal agent.

Pot use and Gynecomastia is at best a weak link. The amounts required for production if it in fact can be produced are very large. So it should not alter the surgery with respect to causing recurrence. Ingestion of smoke into the lungs prior to surgery is not something that optimizes ones chances for a successful result, it does impede wound healing.
