Recurring gyno

I experimented with steroids in my early twenties. In 2003, I developed gyno in both my breasts - my left one being the worst. I had surgery in 2005 with much success. Since 2006, my gyno has been coming back. I fight it with 20 mg Tamoxifen Citrate (Nolvadex) and it eliminates it. I've been on and off Nolvadex since 2006, but now I'm looking for answers as to why I still have recurring gyno?

Your first step should be a visit to an endocrinologist.  If you are in your twenties, not taking anabolic steroids or any other medications, then there is a possible hormonal abnormality.

Who has prescribed the Tamox for you -- or are you self-prescribing?

Self-prescribing a potent drug is never a good idea.  Again, recommend you determine the real reason for your gyne recurrence by visiting an endocrinologist.

I would agree with Dr. Jacobs.  It's possible, however, that the original procedure did not fully remove the tissue. This is a common problem with surgeons who only do gynecomastia surgery occasionally as compared to those of us who do it frequently.  Nonetheless, you need to have an endocrine work up to determine if you're levels are off.
