swelling and puffy nipples 3 weeks post gyno operation

it's been 3 weeks after my surgery and my swelling is getting worse by the day
i feel like there is something hard underneath my nipple could it be that my doctor didn't remove all of my gland? because when i saw my gland po it looked a lot smaller ( around 3 inches ) than other pictures iv'e seen online
is that normal in swelling? i know it takes 6 month for complete result but when will i recover from the swelling 
i should note that i had stage 1 gyno

At this point, it's been a while longer, and I'm wondering if your swelling has changed.  Often, during the early months post-op, swelling around the remnant that we leave under the areola can cause concern in patients, since they worry that the condition is recurring.  Often, this is just related to scar tissue, which typically resolves after a while, but sometimes requires injection of a corticosteroid (typically Kenalog) to help settle the scar tissue down. If you're still having issues, you may want to speak to your surgeon about this.
