Just got a bill from St. Joe's

what is this all about? $550 for surgical daycare uninsured it says..

i was never told about this beforehand..

anybody else get this? it's from the hospital,not from fielding...

no i never stayed overnight..but even if i did it should have been covered

Called the hospital, they said since lipo wasn't covered by OHIP, that part of the hospital fee isn't covered and that Fielding shouldn't be telling his patients that..

I told her it was covered by OHIP, she said i paid out of pocket some money to him and just like he needs to get paid by stuff not covered by OHIP so does the hospital...

why is this happening to me?!?!

This has to be some sort of snafu on St. Joe's part. Just like jonQ, FB and anonguy, I have not recieved a 'Surgical Daycare' bill. Get on the horn to Leslie and ask her WTF....

i called St. Joe's back again...they said Fielding should have told me, but they'll "take care" of it...i tried to get the ladies name at the hospital but she said don't worry about it...

my guess is
(a) she told me they'll take care of it so i'd leave her alone

(b) they screwed up and instead of admitting it, make it look like they're doing me a favour

(c) genuinely being nice (find it hard to believe, who just forgives $550)

so i'm either going to wait to see if they send a new bill, or give it a couple weeks and call up and ask if my account has a balance..

i really think they screwed up cause no one else here got it

and to the person who asked..i paid Dr Fielding 1200+gst, i was informed this was my only out of pocket and OHIP covers the rest...

the hospital said they would take care of it, i haven't really called back..i should tho before i get a collections notice or something

Hey bud, I had an appointment yesterday and I double checked with Fielding's secretary after seeing your post.  She said that there are no additional costs apart from what you pay the good doctor.

So it is most likely an error on the hospital's part.

called up, there's no charges anymore....sorry to scare anyone, but i did get a bill! but it looks like it was in error
