Well I'm 4.5 weeks post op now.  I had intended to start exercising this week but have come down with a severe bout of man flu so unfortunately I haven't been able to yet.

I can now sleep on my side or front without discomfort although strangely I've grown to like sleeping on my back.

I'll get some more photos up around the 6 week mark.

Haha yes probably true jakey!

I'll start exercising this week and see how I go.  Only another few days left of the compression vests but they really haven't bothered me much after the first week or so.

Right here are some photos at nearly 6 weeks post-op.  Again I have a bit of a shine because I've just finished massaging.  To be honest they don't look a great deal different from the last ones.

You can see on the last one (Side 2) the worst of my scars.  Apparently the scars are supposed to be at their most visible after 8 weeks so I have a while to wait yet before they start to fade.  I am using some scar gel so hopefully with time they'll fade although I'm not that bothered anyway to be honest.

Zack42!

Such great progress bud! I think you oil yourself on purpose to get a good shine on the shot! LOL! Just kidding! Proud of you dude, your healing is coming on great and I really can’t see any scars. Can you feel it, though, underneath your skin?

Haha, yes Damien you got me there!

I can feel some lumps underneath the skin but it's not too bad and the massaging does seem to help.

Tomorrow I will be 6 weeks post op so I can ditch the compression vests at last.

You've got to be a bit of a hussy to put up so many topless photos online.

Haha very good!

Had my first day yesterday without the compression vest and it was very liberating.  There's still a little bit of sensitivity in places but overall it seems to be healing well.

I can't wait to get stuck into weight training and I have a few months now to work on getting a decent body for the summer!

Wow Zack42, you are doing great! I bet it felt great not having to wear a compression vest. I bet it felt even better to walk around knowing that you don’t have gynaecomastia any more. You can actually just wear (and change into – that aspect is important too as a man) anything you want without being self conscious. I am looking forward to not having to make up some bizarre peeing excuse when I am changing into mt gym gear in the changing rooms! Nice one Zack42, bench hard for that summer body – chicks cannot resist a nice chest and it will do well for your self esteem and your overall recovery.

Thanks Damien, yes it's nice to be compression free although wearing the vest wasn't as bad as I thought it would be at first.  It all goes by so quickly you hardly notice it.

I'm sure we'll both have perfect summer bodies that the chicks won't be able to resist ;-).  jakey's been an inspiration on that front and if I can get half the results he's had from hard work at the gym then I'll be happy.

I'll be back to post pictures regardless!

Just finished my first weights session.  I took it easy and didn't do my chest today.

Feels good to get the blood pumping again and although I've obviously lost a lot of strength over the past 7 weeks it's great to get started.

I'll take things slowly for the first few weeks because there's still some sensitivity.

Wow well done mate! It’s such a great feeling when you the ‘pump’ feeling after workout. Better yet the muscle soreness when you wake up the next day! Are you not able to work your chest because of the pain? Do you feel it may take a bit more time before it heals? I don’t know how long I will be able to hold off working out after my surgery. I will probably be down the gym after a week! LOL!

Keep up the good work Zack!

Thanks Damien.

I did my chest in the gym this evening - only light weights but it was fine.  No pain and no swelling or anything so I think I'll gradually build up from here.  I'm 7 weeks post op today.
