Thinking of having surgery in Poland?

Appreciate fully what you say Jake, it's just down to personal preference, situation and tolerance at the end of the day, we all know that.   I just didn't fancy those scars around my nipples, the flying there and back and hanging around in a foreign country for 5 days with drains hanging out of me.   I payed more for a technique that requires none of these procedures, so it made me less anxious in the long run.  

As for the surgeon being honest, yes she is, and I doff my cap.  But Isambard clearly states that she informs patients this and that she "doesn't" use the method of leaving a small piece of gland behind, so that is why there is more risk of sunken nipples.

I know which method I'd much rather prefer.

Not trying to scare anyone off, on the contrary.  But neither do I wan't folk going into this, whether abroad or in the UK without knowing all the facts possible, the sole reason for forums like this..information and plenty of it.

Nipper: So you dont have a tiny scar around your nipple were the incition was made?
Also i get what your saying but whats the point in going to have gynecomastia surgery to get rid of the gland and still leave some behind to regrow? I really dont myself see the point in getting surgery unless the whole lot was removed, All mine was removed and they were big lumps check the photos on my thread and i dont have indentation at all?

As I understand it, the only reason it would regrow is if you're hormones aren't in balance. That's not to say that stable hormones won't become unbalanced later down the line, but if it mitigates the risk of a collapsed nipple, I can see why some surgeons would choose to leave a little behind.

Erm, scratch that last comment.  I just read Isambards log, I wouldn't go with any surgeon who denotes a 10% chance of sunken nipples?   Plus all that draining and shit, it doesn't appeal to me one bit.  Believe me mate, I would have loved to have had it done for 2k as well, but after doing my research I went with Karidis.  You only have one life. 

At the beginning of your thread you talk about how bad gyne makes you feel, then contradict yourself by saying you can't justify the cost.  Personally, I would have paid more, knowing I was giving myself the best chance possible.  You live in London mate, go with Karidis, it's on your doorstep.  I will probly get flamed for promoting him or being a Karidite or some other such bullshit.  But if I was you, I'd take that as a sign, but if you don't feel right in your gut about it, go with your instincts.  But as far as surgery goes, get yourself the best you can afford, darn the justification, it's only money! 

Sorry for the delay in replying, Ive been really busy and completely forgot about this for awhile
I recently had a consultation with a surgeon in bristol. However I wasnt impressed at all, for a few reasons:
* He hasnt done a gyno surgery in 4 months
* Said he does around 20 a year and had done more than a hundred in his career although he contradicted himself on a number of ocassions
* A receptionist kept coming in during the consultation, which I didnt like at all.
* Just didnt get a good vibe from him and wouldnt trust him to do a good job
* He showed me no pre op pictures, only post and they werent exactly inspiring - sunken nipples, fatty tissue left over, etc

Anyway on to the next...

Ive got a onsultation with Levick on the 30th october. I completely agree with the points you have made nipper. This has been affecting me for years and its something you cant really put a price on. I cant really see much difference with karidis or levick, although I havent had a reply from a karidis and levick was quicker replying and organising a consultation. I will let you know how it goes!

I stumbled on this post completely randomly and was surprised to find that I have been talked about and quoted on this thread!

I have posted an update on my own thread a moment ago relating to the issue of sunken nipples which you might want to read. But it is not a significant update on my situation as you will see. More to come in the following months.

touching on some of the recent exchanges here, Katarzyana explains that she removes the gland because she wants to 'cure' her patients of gynecomastia. But as Poland2012 rightly said it is an acceptable risk to keep some gland in there for structural support in order to mitigate against nipple collapse. This potentially significant cosmetic gain, to me, is worth the risk of future growth in the future. Especially if you can maintain a healthy weight and hormone levels in the future. I'm sure that a good deal of surgeries with her method will go well. For me, at the moment I am not happy, but I hope that will attenuate.

I'm not sure if it would have helped in your case, though. Your nipples don't seem to collapsed, rather the whole area seems sunken. To have prevented this, she would have essentially had to have left the entire gland. My impression is that the surgeons who do leave a little glad behind do so in to prevent the nipple itself from collapsing.

No I don't have any scars jake, honestly...check my thread on the UK section.  They weren't visible even 7 days later when I removed the plasters.  I have some tissue underneath which I suspect is from the incision, a rice grain sized lump under the nipple or at the outer area.  I have read more cases of surgeons who leave gland behind than those who remove completely.  And they say everyone is different in the healing, so guess your physique, relatively minor case, regime after surgery, age, skin elasticity, water consumption, training, cardio... etc etc...will all have helped you get such good results.

Good luck Pez.  Levick has a good reputation and I've seen some good results from ops he's carried out on the UK board.
