Skyhawk... I  know water is the best,   but I like a  little  fizz in  my  drink. I gave up  booze and nicitine, .........  plain old water  gets boring...i dont drink coffee, i like  some caffeine

The thing that is funny about energy drinks and stuff like Gatorade is that they can contain so many calories, that if you drink them before/after a workout you may not end up burning any net calories.

Someone that runs on a treadmill for 20 mins certainly does not need to drink a 20 oz Gatorade afterward.

i always find it entertaining how many people are drinking energy drinks at the gym (or even just day to day) and are often carrying a bit of extra fat. once you are used to drinking water all the time your tastes adjust and you can taste the ridiculous amount of sugar in other drinks.

I see you  answered the dieat soda  question here, thanks

just to be a hypocrite i have switched to diet coke when i have bourbon and coke and i actually prefer the taste.. tho i still believe they aren't so good for you as nothing in this world is free. ive also been reducing my overall alcohol consumption (trying to get down to 6 pack) which isn't going so well come to think of it (drink in hand)

Didn't I hear that anything carbonated causes your stomach to release calcium to neutralize the carbon dioxide? Long-term consumption would easily induce calcium deficiency. Drink good coffee =D

Everything in moderation. I drank Coke Zero last summer when I trimmed down from 26% bodyfat to around 12%, didn't add anything to my middle. People are always looking for that "magic bullet", the one thing that they can say "That's what I was doing wrong!" or "That's what I need!". Honestly a purpose built diet and exercise routine is all that it takes. I thought there was something "special" that I needed, and there was...HARD WORK AND CONSISTENCY!

Diet sodas doesn't make you fat. But, if you're weak minded, it can trigger you to start eating more.

That will be something you need to work on then Matthew. I am not having a dig at you, but why is it always the people who have little willpower and struggle to lose weight always seek out research and studies to undermine their attempts at losing weight? Why do people feel the need to make everything more complicated than it really is? It is as simple as eat a well balanced diet and increase your output through exercise. If you are still not losing weight either A) Increase exercise, B) Decrease calories, or C) a combination of both. Thats it. The 2nd Law of Thermodynamic cannot be circumvented.

allot of these foods are addictive and you will need to detox from them for some time before your cravings for them will reduce.

Vegitarians are not very healthy people and are usually anemic.
