I am 21 and healthy and my gyno was at its worst before I ever drank alcohol. Over the past 2 years I have been drinking excessively 3 days a week in the summer and 2 days a week the rest of the year with no change to my gyno. I am 1 week post op (excision+lipo) and terrified of a recurrence. Assuming my liver continues to function normally and the alcohol consumption doesn't cause any weight gain is a recurrence really something to worry about? All of my friends drink just as much as me and don't have even the slightest bit of gyno which leads me to want to believe that alcohol can't cause gyno but an underlying cause must be present and alcohol is the scapegoat.

If alcohol alone cause gyne, then virtually all men in this world would have gyne.

Alcohol has been implicated in gyne because it may affect liver function, which in turn, could cause elevations in estrogens, which would then cause breast enlargement.

You can therefore imbibe (modestly) during the Holidays!

Merry Christmas

Not trying to tell you what to do, but going on as you say you are will almost guaranty problems with your liver.
