Rang hospital today to ask about gyno surgery and they said go to your doc, get him to write a referral letter to the surgeon, then i will be brought in for a consulation she said at which then she sends off letter to my insurance (they cover gyno) . How long should all this take? Was supposed to go doc today but am going tomorrow. I need this ASAP.. should i be waiting long for consulation appointment and for my insurance to get back to the surgeon? thanks

All the steps----------------

First you get the referral.

Then you have to wait for an open appointment with the surgeon.

Next the letter needs to be written.

Your insurance company needs time to process the letter.

If approved, you then need to wait until the surgeon has an opening on his schedule which mates with an available time for an operating room.

Each step could take anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks.

Be patient.
