Is it important to visit an endocrinologist before having surgery? I ask for two reasons: (1) I'm having surgery next month and I want to be as prepared as possible. I also don't want my gyn to come back for hormonal reasons (if this is even somewhat probable). And (2) my gynecomastia has gotten a bit worse over the last few years. I suspect that this is simply due to gaining a few pounds with age.

As background, I'm in my mid 30's and I've had gyn since adolescence.

Thanks

I think going to an endo is crucial!
I'd recommend going asap! before the surgery cause if there are underlying hormonal problems your gyne could return after surgery!

It is absolutely crucial to see an endocrinologist prior to surgery.

Surgeons are experts in gynecomastia (good ones are) removal ONLY.

Endocrinologists are experts in the causes of gynecomastia (good ones are).
